Theatre Royal Hotel Kumara
Not as good as when I stayed a couple of years ago. The room wasn’t very clean and the shower gel and shampoo had run out and not been replaced. Was quite musty smelling which wasn’t great for hayfever. Was quite disappointed.

At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). The Ashley Hotel
Managers couldn't even say hello, in general place felt unhappy, I'm sure housekeeping staff would report issues as there were a number of them and management would say humm. Only positive, the bed was good

Copthorne Hotel Greymouth
The room was large and comfortable. Food was good, but dinner service was rather slow. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and covered all tastes.

Loved all the options and all the communal spaces. Super convenient to get the rocky beach from here. AMAZING play ground for the kiddos.
