Our stay was lovely but we did feel that the price was a bit high for the overall experience. Highlights included the breakfast (which was fantastic ), the rain shower (in-room), and the swimming pool! That said, we wish it had been communicated beforehand that some of the spa amenities were swimsuit free, as this might have influenced our decision about where to stay.

The hotel is very clean. The buffet breakfast food is fresh and plentiful. The staff well mannered and friendly. The room was nice and comfortable. Location was excellent. You can walk anywhere within minutes. The spa has several different temperature saunas and a 2 steam rooms. The jacuzzi is outside. Wish the water temp was higher. Great hotel.

Not a true luxury hotel
Was I’ve been checking in we were told that children are not allowed to access the pool outside of the hours of 10 AM to 12 PM. I have a four-year-old daughter and everyone is on the mountain skiing and snowboarding. All day, we come back to the hotel we’re not allowed to take our daughter to the pool. When we asked why it simply just because that’s the rule. There was almost no one ever using the pool I thought this was ridiculous, parents are paying the bill every Hotel should do what they can to, make the life of parents on vacation easier. It’s in your best interest literally. Issue was dining at their restaurant. The food was OK but the prices are astronomical and the service was terrible. We waited over an hour to receive our food and my mother-in-law was fed about one hour before everyone else at our table. We were never given a reason as to why, value for money was horrible. Lastly, was upon our check out. Our train was leaving at 5:15 in the morning to go to Zürich. The streets were completely covered in snow, and it was dumping snow. Not only could they not provide us with a transfer to the train station, but they also couldn’t get us a taxi so we had to walk all of our luggage in the snow with a sleepy four-year-old child to the train station.this is what they consider luxury service. Not to be a snob because I’ve stayed in hostels when I had no money but I’ve also stayed at some very luxurious hotels around the world and this is not luxury service.

We have gladly consulted with the various departments so that we can evaluate these points of criticism and find a preventative approach.Our SPA team must of course remain authentic and must therefore find a balance when exceptions are made, as we can of course also understand our guests. In that sense, our SPA staff have tried their best and you were able to go to the SPA with your child in the evening.We would also like to apologise that you had to wait so long for your meal/that the main courses took so long to arrive after the starter.Regarding the transfer to the railway station at 05:00 in the morning, we were unfortunately unable to offer you a better alternative, as our night porter is alone in the hotel at this time and is not allowed to leave reception. This meant that the lady at reception the evening before could only suggest the only taxi company in Grindelwald, which unfortunately had no capacity.This is not intended to be an excuse, but only to lead to a better understanding.We would be delighted if you would give us another chance and hope to see you soon ! Highly recommended
We had a wonderful one night stay in the Alpine Design Resort. The room was fantastic with spectacular views and very warming and comfortable! We did not have time to use the spa but it looked fantastic and would 100% come back to visit again!

The hotel is gorgeous and the location is spectacular. Upon check in the front desk worker was very rude to another guest. Then very short with us. We upgraded to a rooftop suite and the room smelled like raw sewage. We ordered room service and they left the cart in the hall way all of the next day. Old hamburger and onion made the entire hall smell awful. The property is great but the staff is apathetic at best. There was one gentleman from the Dominican Republic and a young lady named Morgan that were very pleasant and helpful.

It’s really upset there was no parking space kept for the hotel guests. If you have limited space you should have let your guest know in advance. We had to park somewhere further which was ridiculous.

We recently stayed at Bergwelt and it was one of the best experience in Europe. The staff at Bergwelt made sure we had a great experience. Specially Nadja, she was professional and amazing during our entire stay. The resort is beautiful and the spa and the breakfast was one of my favorites about the resort, the suite view was breathtaking. I highly recommend Bergwelt for your stay in Grindelwald.

Liked the view of Eiger. Eggs were too salty at breakfast. Sometimes reception did not answer the phone but they were all friendly.

Our stay was extremely comfortable. The spa and room are well kept, smell nice and comfortable. The views from the property are just breathtaking. We’ve requested additional pillows as my neck was hurting at night and got it within minutes. The personnel is knowledgeable and ready to help you with anything. Breakfast is delicious and worth all the money spent on it. Thank you, we will be coming back again.
