El escenario del castillo está increíble, pero como un edificio antiguo tiene ya su tiempo y está plasmado en detalles. Si quieres una experiencia donde la habitación sea lo más importante, busca otro lugar. Si lo que aprecias es la cultura, la historia, y un lugar donde quedarse para disfrutar de Guanajuato, entonces te la pasarás muy bien.

We arrived at the location late in the night as we had a flight delay. When we arrived there was no receptionist at the counter and we had waited at least an hour for them to get back calling their phone non stop. No one ever came and we had to just continue on our trip through the night. I had my wife and daughter with me and I felt this was a huge inconvenience on their part as they could have called me messaged me anything in their part so I could find another hotel. There was no signed at the door they were closed they were wide open. No button to press to get anyone’s attention very poor experience we had here at this location.

The hotel is ok, however they should take care of the premises, bathroom was dirty of mold and 3 roaches were found, room in general was humid, it is an old place but they should keep it in better shape, pool was dirty too, towels were not as white as they should be and the check in service was not friendly, not sure if I would go back honestly

Disgusting! Please stay away!!! Please acknowledge all negative reviews. The bathroom had mold, cockroaches everywhere, filthy bed sheets, filthy mattress, furniture was disgusting, outlets didn’t work, no towels, no toilet paper, floors were filthy. Just gross!! Don’t waste your money! Maybe stop by and take a photo outside, but dont think about staying here!

Obviously, the experience of staying at a castle is amazing and the premises are beautiful and well-maintained for taking pictures and feeling like you are goth royalty. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was ok in terms of upkeeping as the beds felt old and the curtains couldn't fully close as they were tied with strings and not a curtain pole. They also told us that the check-out was at noon (12pm) but they kept on knocking on the door every 45 mins or so and they even opened the door once while we were inside the room. They also forgot to give us towels and we had to call the front desk to request them

This a beautiful hotel from the outside great for pictures. Rooms need updating. Torn curtains and broken bed posts. Beds were comfortable and clean though.

Room was very dirty. Very uncomfortable mattress and pillows. Did not have towels nor toilet paper when we arrived. When asked for towels they said they no longer hand any and had to wait 1 hour til they dried.

Our showers had mold all around aswell as inside the toilet and sink. The carpet looked like it haven’t been vacuumed in a while. Our lights kept going on and off all night. Small roaches behind the bathroom doors. The outside is beautiful but definitely no clean rooms.

The outdoor of the castle was nice, good for pictures but that’s all. The rooms are horrible, smelly, dirty, not taken care of and the blankets were dirty and had hairs!

Esta propiedad es hermosa mi familia y yo estuvimos muy contentos ahí, es un poco de trabajo subir tanto escalón pero creo que es única y cómo tal se tiene que conservar. Las habitaciones están muy amplias,” y limpias ,yo solo le cambiaría las colchas están un poco viejas todo lo demás es único, muchas gracias creo definitivamente volveríamos a hospedarnos ahí.

I loved staying at the place as it is a cool experience. However, we never got more toilet paper and the room wasn’t cleaned properly. The staff was amazing I would recommend this place just for the type of stay it is and friendly staff. But it needs work when it comes to how clean the rooms are and how often they deliver items. We asked for the paper our second day there. They said they were waiting on it’s delivery. So we waited and we never received any. We just ended up buying our own.

This hotel was so disappointing. The room was dirty. Sheets had hair and stains on them. The walls were dirty. Dead bugs on the wall, bathroom was moldy including the shower, the toilet was leaking water all over the floor. We were told they could find us another room but it would cost extra then later they gave us a key to another room to see if we wanted to move. That room was just as filthy. We had to spend our first day of vacation looking for other accommodations which we did at an extra expense of $600.00. We asked for a refund they refused and said we had to go through Expedia which I have. I'm waiting for a response.

I was very excited to stay at this property. I loved how the staff were always very helpful and provided an easy no hassle check in. I wanted to give them a 5 star for that alone. The building is very old and true to its name and history but it would be awesome if a bit more care was provided. There were roaches in the restrooms. The water faucets spilled so much water from the base if anything was left on the counter of the sink it got soaked. the shower drain was very clogged making it harder for the water to go down the drain. Otherwise the stay here was nice, quiet, I felt safe and provides a wealth of history. I wouldn't mind staying here again but hope a bit more work can be provided to this amazing place.
