Don’t be put off by the rather careworn outside appearance ,inside the hotel is very smart. Staff were friendly and helpful, room large and well equipped, with a balcony. Easy to find and plenty of parking, though hotel is 6 km from town. Very good buffet breakfast included. Only downside was the restaurant. The food was very hit and miss, and we were overcharged for some drinks. There isn’t anywhere else locally to eat. It’s a good base for exploring the area, and we would stay again.

Great hotel

Our stay at the hotel was great ,the staff were very approachable and could not help enough. We had meals in the restaurant on both nights and the food was excellent. Must mention our waiter on both nights he was excellent his Name was Samuel great character. The hotel is a great location if you're traveling down from santander to the algarve for a stop over.

The food is not up to the level!

Service was excellent but the food was not up to the level of the Hotel. The daily fixed menu for 16.00 € (Excl. Drinks) was more or less but the soup was the highlight and the Dessert.

A bit tired, but clean and comfortable

Very friendly staff. We ate at the hotel both nights of our stay and the 3 course menu was excellent value at 15 euros, with soup or salad to start, meat or fish main course and a choice of desserts. The room itself was a good size but fixtures and fittings were a bit tired and dated with a tan and orange theme. There were some small holes in the inner curtains, and these curtains were falling off the fittings at one end. The bedding and towels, however, were spotless and the bed was comfortable. The location is a short drive from town (11 minutes) and there is a good park for jogging a 5 minute drive away. Overall a quiet location and a good value hotel.

Disappointing

The property is poorly kept. The exterior of the building needs power washing. The tennis court is very worn. There are a lot of weeds. We did not use the pools or gym. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. You can hear the springs when you get into bed. The inside of the curtains are stained, looks like a water line along the bottom. Overall does not meet expectations of being a 4 star restaurant. Our travel companions found the food mediocre, we did not eat here. The day of price was half what we paid booking in advance. The rooms are good size. Housekeeping emptied trash cans and made the bed/ replaced linens only. They did not take leftover room service glasses/ bottles, though they did take the tray.

A bit strange

This hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. It's in a good location, close to both the motorway and the city. There are a few bakeries, cafés and restaurants within walking distance. There's ample parking, too. When I arrived, they didn't even mention the spa, which is a bit weird. I'd been driving for about 3 days, so would quite happily have used it, but there was no info at reception and none in the room. The staff at the bar and restaurant were fantastic throughout and able to make great recommendations. Food and drink options at breakfast and dinner, as well as bar snacks, were excellent. The room was ok. Spacious, but a bit on the old side. I don't mind that generally, but the mattress was VERY soft, so not great for back health and the aircon was that old centrally connected kind which is simultaneously really noisy and totally ineffective at cooling the room. I ended up propping the balcony door open with a cushion, so as not to bake. There was lots of signage about being eco friendly, but the eco button had been removed from the toilet.

Good hotel for travellers

Simple hotel on our way to the Algarve. Unfortunately ferry was delayed by 2 hours which meant that we arrived in the dark and had some difficulty finding the hotel until a helpful local showed us the simple way

The room is comfortable. There is a fully equipped gym, plus a pool, sauna, and steam room. The prix fixe dinner was delicious and at a very good price. The buffet breakfast was huge and good quality.
