So-so place, could be a lot better

The facility was ’ok’... not easy to locate... rooms were too porous to sound from the outside... staff needs some training in hospitality although the lady night manager was efficient and proffessional. Comfortable stay except for the noise. Shopping very nearby for those interested.

Know what you're in for before you go

Have stayed at this property for many years and perhaps the only reason that I stay (aside from it being of high quality) is that the hotel is one block walking distance from where I need to be while in Gurgaon. If you are simply looking for a fantastic clean and quiet place to stay, this is top notch. It does have its downfalls however; Taxi drivers cannot find location! Don't even try at night. Driver absolutely must call property, most often more than once, while enroute for instructions. Don't plan on using the hotel phone number listing given by Hotels.com as it is incorrect. Also, the phone listings for Ahuja Residency Parklane from its own website direct you to another on of its properties, not the Parklane. On this visit, it took one and one half hours from the time I left the airport until I actually arrived the hotel. This should have taken maximum 30 minutes otherwise! Room service on the trip was very out of sorts. One order took 4 visits until everything requested arrived as ordered. Simply ordered bottled water and Sprite. To avoid this from happening again, asked reception to place an order for me another time so servers could be told in Hindi. This order too still arrived incorrectly and needed another visit to fix.

I will whole-heartedly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a quiet, decent stay-over without breaking their banks. Very helpful staff and convenient location.

Air Conditioning? Management? Not this time.

Previously this has been a favorite. Convenient location to activities that are meaningful to me and shopping, quiet neighborhood but still close to shopping, etc. Clean rooms. This time however on day 2 of my stay the air conditioning stopped working (start of summer, 30 degrees celsius in room) and was told 3 different stories by front desk, including that no other rooms were available as they were sold out that night. Unacceptable and after much argument several times throughout the day was finally given an upgraded room that evening. When confronting hotel manager was given no more than a "sorry". The management company for this property has changed hands recently and the service has suffered during this stay in my opinion as a result. I will book elsewhere in future despite previous experiences that were on par.

The hotel is located in a quiet residential area. It is 'functional'. It is ok for spening a night or two there. Room was quite bare - but clean. Toilet was ok. Buffet breakfast was alright. Restaurant is located in the basement of the hotel.

Another successful stay

Great location in Gurgaon - close to all yet tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. Downside is that the property is especially hard to find. Have your driver phone ahead and check out their web site for current contact information. Room was the cleanest it has been on all of my many visits. Couldn't find any faults. Treated like family now by all of the staff. Standard amenities in the room include basic toiletries, free WiFi, complimentary coffee/tea service, refrigerator, safe. A nice place and a great getaway.

Call ahead!!

Make certain that you call ahead to get the proper telephone number for this hotel before setting out - you'll never find it otherwise which is part of its charm. The telephone on the listing continues to be incorrect and I've never encountered a driver who can locate the place on his own. That said, the property is very nice and well maintained, staff is adequate and rooms are clean. Shopping and dining are close at hand despite this guest house being in a residential area.

Amhtab and his staff were so helpful. Hotel situated in a residential neighborhood. Just a few blocks to a local shopping center with many restaurants. Easy pedal-cab or autorickshaw ride to metro stops or bigger shopping malls.

Second stay here...

Was happy to find this place last time around so thought that I'd try it again. Great neighborhood, close to shopping, offices, eateries, etc. It is very close to a relatives home that I visit while in India and much nicer than another property that was being upgraded (in price and perhaps in detail) that is also listed nearby on Hotels.com. This hotel is more of a boutique inn. My only disappointment was that the room was not as spotless as it had been prior - a little more dust and hair on the floor than one might expect after a nights stay. Otherwise, everything was fine. Would consider using this property again for my next visit.

An excellent place to stay!

The only suggestions that I have concerning this property is that they update the contact phone number because on the date that I phoned, the number was not correct. Would also suggest however that the taxi driver call the hotel for directions becuase the hotel IS hard to find, which is actually a plus. It's out of the way yet still close to malls and other necessities. Everything from check-in to check-out was superb - could not find fault with one area other than those noted above. More of a "botique" property in my opinion, another plus. Will certainly stay here again on my next Gurgaon visit in the months to come.

Most hotels in the Delhi area, unless 5 star, have a noise problem. The Park Lane is well situated in a residential area and away from traffic and car horns, crowds, construction, etc. The hotel is well managed, staff know their job and are friendly, rooms are good for the price, dining room is efficient and will cater to needs (less chilli, etc). The wonderful Delhi Metro is a shortish ride on a 3 wheeler, and some good local shopping areas accessable by cycle rickshaw. Max Healthcare hospital is also nearby. For those looking for Delhi tourist traps, they are too far away for this, although Kingdom of Dreams is nearby. As with most hotels, arranging taxis for you is exhorbitant, best if you find a local service which charges Govt rates. Airport is about half an hour away and therefor accessable.
