Due to issues at Boston Logan Airport, we unexpectedly arrived at Publick House Historic Inn without a rental car. This beautiful hotel is spread over a large area and the room we were intended to occupy was some driving distance from the main reception. With no car, we were unable to take the room set aside for us, but were immediately upgraded to a room just steps away and could not have been more grateful to the friendly and welcoming staff.

Great place to stay. Owners were very accommodating . Room was clean and pillows very comfortable. Highly recommend Steaming Tender Restaurant for a bite to eat and Antique Mall nextdoor to Inn is worth a visit.

Spotless room - all brand new. Excellent facilities. Ideal for working. Comfortable bed. Very nice and personable staff. Breakfast so-so - cooked stuff has that precooked appearance and taste. But mostly good oatmeal with nuts and fruits etc, plus yoghurt. Wildwood Grill next door is excellent value if you want a break from cooking!

The town of Sturbridge is a perfect setting for a little break away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Rooms clean, although dated. Location good and parking in abundance.

House was beautiful. Room and facilities were spotless. The hosts were brilliant as well. I’d missed going out for dinner in the area so they kindly made me an excellent grilled cheese sandwich. And when they realised I’d be walking half an hour the next day to my next stop, even dropped me off. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.
If I’m ever back in the area I’ll be staying here.
