Flackley Ash Country House Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We love coming for the facilities!"

The Burlington Hotel
8/10 Good
"Lovely breakfast but only serving till 10am would have been better till 11 with a check out at 11am"

Best Western York House Hotel
4/10 Poor
" I have a few comments regarding our stay. I wasn’t expecting a five star but in some ways a 3 star was a little overrated. We were greeted by the most loveliest helpful receptionist. He was 5*. It went downhill from there I’m afraid. The room was ‘ok’ but we got what we paid for. When returning from night out the night receptionist was 1* at best. He cod barely converse. The bar man assisted telling us it was his night off but would help. After drinks at bar We asked for a jug of iced water to take to room. Barman said receptionist would help and to wait in reception for the water. The receptionist came out with two plastic very stained cooking jugs and asked ‘which one’? I asked for a cleaner one and spotted some Pimms jugs which would be much more suitable. Begrudgingly he agreed and assisted. When arriving for breakfast we were not greeted. We found our own table and made way to buffet. Platters were half full at best with many cold offers empty. No bread for toast. No eggs. No pastry. No fresh fruit salad. Juice on a bare minimum, literally had to wait mins to drain. We were not late. We were there 930 latest. We had find someone to request hot tea and coffee, which as tasteless. However at 10 the staff were very attentive to say buffet was shutting. Went for swim. Shower was freezing and woodlice on floor. Nowhere to change in private. Weeds through fire escape. This is barely a 3 star. My only compliment of this hotel was the lovely gentleman on reception when we arriv"

Majestic Hotel Eastbourne by Belvilla
6/10 Okay
"Room had three single beds with very white linen, although my son found a very faint stain on his. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Shower very powerful! View was of a side street so not a seaview, which was disappointing. It's about 1km to town so not far, and there is a row of shops including a Sainsbury's and fish and chip shop behind the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. "

Cavendish Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"The Cavendish was extremely dirty and in poor condition. We paid for what was shown on the website as a lovely (standard double) we were given a room down many filthy dirty stairs to a dirty room on its own past dirty broken unused dumped tables opposite a staff doorway (room number 64) this room SHOULD NOT be in use. It was like being taken down to the basement dungeon. The window glass was broken..it was dirty, the curtains didn't fit the window and was freezing cold. I spoke to staff who did move us upto level 3 to another room.I would not recommend this hotel for your stay in Eastbourne"

The Mermaid Inn
10/10 Excellent
"I rated my stay very high at the Mermaid Inn because it was a special detour in the very charming city of Rye. The inn was perfectly located. The food was excellent, from delicious fish and chips on the pub to a 5 star dinner in the dining room. Keep in mind this is a very old building with crooked steps and low ceilings. It may not be suitable for everyone. Our room was adorable and very comfortable. "

The View Hotel
8/10 Good
"Veey comfortable and friendly staff"

The Lookout Rye
4/10 Poor
"We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of foods, and the service from the staff throughout our stay was genuinely outstanding.
Unfortunately, the bedrooms and en-suite facilities were very dated and in need of a thorough clean and modernisation. We were disappointed on arrival, although the staff did change our room without any trouble. The second room had a slightly larger bed, but the overall standard still fell well below the expectations set by the photos on the website.
The bar and breakfast room have clearly been refurbished and look beautiful, but from the stairs upwards the hotel is in real need of some TLC. The stair carpet is threadbare, and there are visible cracks in the walls, ripped wallpaper, dirty paintwork, and thick dust in several areas.
The staff and breakfast were definite highlights, but the accommodation and general upkeep let the experience down.
