"Very kind and the ryokan was so cute"

"This property is 3 minutes from the station and has surprisingly comfortable beds. That's it for pros. This property is strange and uncomfortable to stay at. Every room has 2 signs in it telling you what not to do. It would be hilarious if they weren't serious. There are threats of fines if you move furniture and warnings about how the fire alarm will randomly go off is certain doors are left open. Yet for all these precautuons, it is very run down. Theres a big stain on the sofa. The cookware was filthy. There's no kitchen towel to help dry cookware when you wash it. There's mold in the shower. There's also a creepy floor access panel by the washer. Where does it go? I do not know. There's no dryer, however you wont be able to wash your clothes anyway. There's a room guide with English to explain how to use the various appliances. For the washer, it says to turn it on and set the course and go. But that doesnt work. The water to the washer had to be activated first. The previous person staying here didn't figure it out because there was still soap waiting in the washer. Overall, a huge disappointment. Just save your sanity and stay in a hotel. "

"We stayed one night in the Royal Suite with its own hotspring bathtub in the room. Didn’t realize it at the time of booking but it comes with the best dining seating location which gives the best view of the lush and tranquil garden, free private hot springs downstairs, and a huge suite room. Kaiseki dinner was just exquisite and delicious as well as the breakfast next morning. Almost like a fine dining experience. I tried the all the hotsprings available at the property: one in the suite, the private one that’s locked up (free if you get the suite), and the public bath one. We were very glad we paid the extra money to get the Royal suite as both the private springs and the tub in the room get a very nice view of the bubbling river with lush mountain in the backdrop. Highly recommended and we will be coming back when we visit Fukuoka again. We rented a car and it was a breeze and took only one hour. Located in a very sleepy quaint town called Saga. "

"Room was fantastic and very spacious offering amenities like kitchen, dining table, bathtub, washer etc. It also had private rooftop access with jacuzzi overlooking the ocean (bear in mind there is no swimming pool). I personally loved the breakfast which was grilled salmon rice, beef sukiyaki, pork soup etc. but that was offered as the default option daily. Food in the restaurant was very competent too - offering a mix of Japanese & Western dishes like pasta and pizza, beers on tap etc. Just a 5min walk to the Couples Shrine and overall the highlight of our family trip to Fukuoka. Free parking available on the site."

"The checkin process was super simple. They have a tablet in the unit that you use to communicate to their agents. The agents spoke English which made everything that much easier. They answer the tablet everytime and quickly. Wish they had a bathroom upstairs."
