"The rooms at Porters are beautifully kept, spacious and with ample amenities. The location is excellent and our suite was superb for our family. Staff at Porters are always a highlight - going out of their way to help and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The surroundjng area is loaded with dining options and is a short drive to surrounding cellar doors and scenic spots that Hawke's Bay has to offer. We will be back for our third stay in April 2026!"

"Good clean accommodation,had everything we needed and a super comfy bed. Just one thing that annoyed us us the outside light on all night,so the 2nd night we tucked a towel into binds to block out light which worked. Close to shops and venue where we had family 21st birthday party."

"Couldn’t get bedside lights to go. Very little available for cost. No stool in bathroom. No place on booking sheet to inform re disabilities. Breakfast was a further cost on top of tariff. Very close to facilities and shopping a real bonus."

"Fully refurbished room within a newly refurbished hotel. Great central location with parking (local council) available within a 3 minute walk. Bars, shops and restaurants nearby and a short 2 minute walk to promenade. Room has a kitchenette which is very handy. The member of staff ‘Charlie’ was extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return."

"Huge room (with spa batch) great shower, on top floor, so great views. Parking is inadequate (it is a huge motel, loads og units), but there was plenty of parking without restrictions, on the road. The room was like a hotel room with cooking facilities, so a bit more upmarket than an average motel. There is a lift to make life easy with your luggage."

"A beautifully restored period hotel. The rooms are tastefully upgraded, so you will be very comfortable. My room had an outdoor gathering area with chairs to view the ocean, sit and read, or play guitar."
