"We have used Hotels.com many times and Sykes cottages a number of times this past year al very good and this was excellent. The booking was easy but the owner of this cottage was excellent in communication and instructions ( Gaynor ) there isn’t enough I could say and we had the privilege of meeting her when she did midweek check on jacuzzi. "The property was of a basic nature and very tired in places. The bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was a small queen bed that wasn't big enough for 2 adults to get a good night sleep. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Due to this we left the property early and had to book a hotel. I also tried to contact the property as advised by Sykes cottages, but my calls were unanswered and not returned. Overall a disappointing stay. There are plenty of better rentals available."

"It was a nice place and clean until we pulled the sofa bed out and it was dirty, a quick hover wouldn't have done it any harm. Overall its a nice place to stay, we did try and phone the numbers given to inform of the condition of the sofa bed however not one number was answered, we ended up getting the caretaker, who was 100% helpful"

"Off the main road which was good. We thought it was a nice, pleasant place to stay within a short drive of Chester. I would recommend this place to friends visiting the area. We were just a couple that stayed for a week whilst building work was completed on our house and found it competitively priced so if you are a group of 4 then it would represent even better value. "Gorgeous food from the large breakfast offering (there is everything you could ever want for breakfast!!!) the food in Palm Court was outstanding and the staff looked after us so well, we also loved the piano player- added something special to the evening.
