"This is a hidden gem that I literally stumbled upon. This area is famous for agriculture so the food was sourced locally and amazing. The staff is international so even if you don't speak much Japanese you will be fine. It is peaceful and fun to walk around the area. We even met a young tomato and melon farmer who showed us his greenhouse. It was like staying in a ancient Japanese palace in a very local village. The price was so worth it and the cafe and various places to use my PC made this...

"The staff treated me so well. Working with me even with a language barrier. After a few weeks of the Tokyo and Osaka life, that place was a slice of heaven, my only regret was not staying longer. The baths were nice, the place was super clean. Transportation to get there is a bit difficult, but that I think is what makes this place attractive, since it's in such a nice, quiet part of Japan. "Overall was good. The only thing is that we expect this room would fit our family of 4 (as that is what we booked). Unfortunately it only came with 2 single futon (with 1 pillow each) which really only fit 2 people. We had to pay extra to get an extra futon. Other than that, the staff was helpful and the location was good (really right by the train station but remember to leave at the JR exit). We also enjoyed the public bath where we get to soak in the hot bath."

"It was really good experience visiting the Todaya. Right from the moment we arrive, every staff was super nice and extremely helpful! Hotel lobby has free drinks in the afternoon and there are so many selections from tea to juice to wine. The hotel was not busy and we get to go to all the private onsen. Buffet breakfast and dinner has lots of selection from japanese food to western food. Hotel room was large and fit our family of 4 very comfortably."

"We decided to come even if we don’t have a dog, but this was not a problem. Of course, you have to like dogs, because most people come with their dogs. But everyone is very respectful. The staff is always helpful and adorable. The bedroom was wide, clean and the view on the ocean is beautiful. The dinner & the breakfast were delicious, a mix of fish, meat, veggies… We stayed 2 nights and we were positively surprised that they made an effort to serve us a few different dishes for our second dinner and breakfast. Onsen is small but very nice and comfortable. Perfect after a long day around in Toba or the islands around. We loved our stay very much! Thank you!"
