"Beware. Avoid this hotel.
We paid in full, through Expedia, a couple of weeks prior to our check in. Processing of that payment was confirmed through PayPal, & Expedia confirmed payment to Home2Suites by Hilton in Champaign IL.
However, Home2Suites processed a second payment the day of our check in, through the debit card on our Hilton rewards account.
I have spent several hours in communication with the hotel to resolve this, to no avail. They are aware payment in full was made prior to our arrival. They have seen proof of that. No return communication has been attempted from the hotel’s manager. Expedia is now taking over responsibility of communicating with the hotel. However, Expedia noted that they had difficulty with the front desk of the hotel answering the phone. Yes; this happened multiple times for me, too; I had to press option of “reservation”, simply to speak to someone. That was a consistent issue during the stay as well.
In addition, breakfast was lacking, & that is the most polite way to say that.
Staff person at breakfast said they would refill items that were gone at the time we started breakfast, but that was never done.
Upon researching regulatory agencies to notify of this hotel’s fraudulent charges, I became aware that there is a historical pattern of fraudulent charges made by Hone2Suites in Champaign IL.
We will never return to this hotel.
I wouldn’t roll the dice if I were you."
