Disappointed This Time – Hope It Was Just a One-Off
I’ve always stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Clinton/Jackson and usually have a great experience, but this recent 4-night stay was disappointing. There was no full-service housekeeping during the stay — no sheet changes, no trash pickup, and we had to request towels every day.
When we first arrived, the sliding bathroom door wouldn’t close, the phone didn’t work, and the air conditioning stopped working that night. There was also no shower gel in the room. Thankfully, the maintenance guy was prompt and very kind — he fixed the issues quickly.
On the third day, I had to ask for towels twice. One older front desk staff member with short hair and glasses was not helpful and told me to go find the housekeeping staff myself. When I did, the housekeeper had an attitude and told me she was leaving for the day. Thankfully, a younger receptionist and the younger housekeeper (it was her first day) helped resolve the issue and was much more understanding.
I understand some workers didn’t come in for housekeeping but no need for attitudes. On the morning of checkout, the two front desk ladies — I believe one was a manager — were both very sweet and apologetic.
This was my first less-than-stellar experience at this location, and I hope it was just an off week. I’ve always enjoyed staying here in the past, and I hope things improve moving forward.
