"Wonderful visit to St Petersburg. The Avalon met all expectations. Room clean and comfortable. Additonal amenities at sister hotel next door were very nice as well the restaurant have great food at reasonable price. Patio sesting comfortable. Pool was very nice. All staff were helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again."

"No amenities to use! No pool, no gym, no complimentary lobby coffee. Cute fresh coffee shop in the lobby u til 2 tho. They cleaned our room ONCE in 5 nights…because we complained. Every time I saw the cleaning crew, I let them know that we’d be leaving in a few minutes and to come back, but they never did. Otherwise, great location"

"There is no self parking- only valet. That is a big no for me. The hotel is old, but very well maintained. It’s ok for a very short stay."

"Both bars were lively, well staffed and friendly. Nice to have a pianist in the evenings. Staff was incredibly helpful. Room was great, lovely clawfoot tub and a nice shower. Absolutely wonderful location!"

"We love old historic buildings and especially hotels. We were very excited to get a room in the "old" section of this hotel. They are currently updating the hotel and the new section is beautiful too but we enjoyed the room we were in. Exposed pipes overhead, high ceilings, plaster walls, and the old sash-style windows. The air worked great. The only negative in our particular room was a leak at the base of our pedestal sink. We tucked a little towel around it and we were fine. Delicious Expresso martinis and yummy complimentary Pete's bagels in the morning. Close to everything, we enjoyed our stay."
