"BEWARE! The online photos are fake and the reviews are bogus! Do not stay here! Office upon arrival—-lights off, no AC, a “night of the living dead” person didn’t even speak, so I said my name. He went outside, came back with a key and the only 2 words he ever uttered were “cabin 2”. Cabin 2 met us with a plunger by the front door. Inside was quite a nightmare. No way to ask for another room as the place was closed at this point. Bathroom door broken—has a gate latch that doesn’t close all the way, floors filthy and covered in sticker burrs, spiders in the bathroom, the soaps and shampoos were obviously refilled-not new-and dirty and stuck to the glass shelve. The TV was falling off the wall, there was a hole in the front door and the back of the door was covered in some sort of dirt (bug dirt?). Multiple spider webs in room. The positives were the fridge and microwave were clean and operational, the bed wasn’t really comfy but seemed to be clean, and the AC worked. We were immediately looking for other hotel rooms even though we had prepaid for 2 nights. Unfortunately—April in this area is a big time for visiting Big Bend, so there was nothing to be had. We seriously considered sleeping in the truck… The reviews and photos I saw before booking sure look good, but they are very deceptive. Buyer beware!!"

"The El Paisano never disappoints. From the preserved history with many subtle nods to the movie, Giant, to the serene patio with the best fountain for sitting under the stars, to the comfy beds and the best little shops! Already can’t wait to go again!"

"The rooms were fairly clean did notice a couple of things that could of have been better. Good place to stop by last minute to rest and get a good night sleep. They have breakfast in the morning just make sure your clock is on the correct time zone. My cell updated the time zone but the hotel is on different one so we missed breakfast."

"It is an updated property and was very nice. The lobby, where they offer breakfast, has a strong order for some reason, and the staff helps you through a window at the side of the building, versus at the lobby counter, which is different, but they were very nice! I would stay here again for sure!"

"Dining room closed. Long wait for bar food. Bathroom in room awful. Front of Commode crowded up against tub. Claw foot tub fits decor but felt unsafe standing in it. I expect much more for this high price."
