Great stay, no complaints about the lodging. Location was great but I would avoid the restaurant as I found it to be overpriced and the food was unimpressive. In addition the waitress who attended our table was pushy and demanded a tip. I found that to be off putting.

At first impressions I actually considered this property to be good but having stayed there for an extended period of time, I observed a lot of things that need attention both within the property as well as the staff. Below I’m going to highlight all the concerns based on week or so stay in April of 2026: i) The staff needs to be coached on basic etiquette or at the least general customer service. Many a time would we greet the front desk staffers and for the most part they’d literally not respond. I’m mindful they can’t initiate a greeting to everyone, but it’s only courteous to acknowledge someone who greets you. ii) When a guest has a DO NOT DISTURB hanger (with the DND side reflected) on the door, please coach your house-keeping staff to adhere to the signage. I would think this basic practice and common sense. iii) The unit we stayed in requires some pest control as they’re roaches everywhere. (I’ve purposely left out the unit number for purposes of privacy on this platform) iv) As someone who has experience in staying in apart hotels properties, please invest in basic cookware. I was appalled with the cookware that was provided upon request. Not only did any of the pots have handles on the lids, the cookware has seen its better days. v) The door to access the hallway on the 7th floor needs attention on the top latch as it makes unbearable noise anytime it shuts. The door doesn’t lock as well so anyone can easily access the hallway, which is a security concern.

The reception staff were polite and helpful. I arrived late and left by 11 am. The apartment is spacious and bed linen were comfy for a good night sleep. It's walking distance to Sandton City and we managed to walk up and down in the morning and it was safe.

Check in was easy BEST LOCATION EVER!!! The price was decent with the advance booking Bed and linen was so LUSH. Room had air conditioning Internet was good Ample storage They refreshed the room daily The cafe down stairs had great coffee The restaurant is a great amenity and it’s pretty… only had coffee Complimentary water and coffee Openable windows Could be improved - front access needs to be improved esp the step free access signage - water pressure - not great - there was lots of water puddles in the corridor, unsightly and falls risk - need to consider having a space for having food from outside given its aparthotels

I stayed at BlackBrick in total 24 days in 2 separate rooms -- The staff was great, property cleaned daily and the pictures accurately reflect what the room looks like. Although I didn't drive the parking was free for my guests and it is 24/7 monitored by human gate access and seemed to have ample availability. The restaurant/bar was awesome and priced well. They did have an amazing playlist of R&B and Jazz. It was a safe short 10 minute walk to Guatrain and Sandton City / Mandela Square. I even did it at night although it wasn't suggested. This will be my hotel of choice in the future.

First room smelt really bad so we moved, the second room was better but the hand wash smelt rotten (looked like something was inside it, because I don’t think hand wash goes off so no idea why it smelt that bad!). The water pressure in the bathroom basin was very low and the basin itself was tiny so made washing hands and washing face difficult. I was excited to try the gym but it was in the car park and doesn’t feel particularly safe walking to it across the car park after dark. It’s quite run down, and the pictures online make the rooms seem bigger than they actually are. All the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was lovely, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Ficamos somente 2 noite no hotel, mas foi tudo ótimo. Gostamos muito do quarto, era confortável e perto de dos lugares que gostaríamos de conhecer, como o Melrose, Rosebank, e a Mandela Square. O único ponto que não gostamos é que não tinha nenhuma panela para cozinhar, então não entendi porque um fogão no quarto se não tinham os utensílios para tal, não tinham taças para vinho também. Acho que a parte da cozinha pode ser melhorada. De restante tudo ótimo.

O hotel BlackBrick Sandton Two foi uma hospedagem curta após alguns dias de Safari na África do Sul e nosso voo seria saindo por Johanesburgo. Pegamos este hotel porque queríamos algo com preço bom, e localização perto do Mandela Square, e adoramos a experiencia. O quarto eh relativamente pequeno, mas foi suficiente para nossa necessidade. Recomendamos. O prédio nos passou muita segurança.

This is a place which has low levels of attention to detail and gets away with it because its not enough to ruin a holiday. Just about everything in the place would rank as "not quite there": stains on the only couch in reception, a twin bedroom suite where neither bedroom has any windows or natural light (?), a pillar in front of the bathroom basin so you have to use it from the side (at least makes for a funny story in future), only one towel provided when they knew three people were staying there, stains on the walls, poor finishings on cabinetry, a desk that wobbled so badly on the tiled floor I had to use a dishcloth to stabilise it etc. I did complain to management but also realized...these issues are systemic and my only recourse ultimately would be to not stay there again. Fortunately we were only there for two nights - I would have checked out early otherwise.

We have stayed at black brick 1 and wanted to compare with black brick 2. From room keys not working 2/3 nights, to having noisy parties next door 2 nights in a row. I would say pick something else. I could talk about the "pool" that is really kid sized and breakfasts that needs improvement but why bother. The security guards are not friendly or helpful, which was disappointing.For the remainder of our stay we booked elsewhere. We did like how clean the place was and the inside staff were very professional. Id stay at black brick 1 again but not black brick 2.
