"Our room was spacious and clean. Free coffee and tea in the lobby. Friendly staff. However, if I had to make a suggestion would be to completely get rid of the smoking room in the lobby. It’s right next to the laundry room and elevator. It’s unavoidable to smell it in the hallway as space is limited. Free laundry room was nice - one tip would be to wash clothes in the machine then transfer it to the dryer. The drying function in those combo washers never worked well."

"The room smells like it has a bad drainage system. Once we enter the room and it smells like the toilet has been backed up. The fabric spray provided was useless. Attitude of staff were mixed, some discrimination were definitely present. Felt harrassed by the staff to settle the bill due to deciding to have extra guest in the room which we also had already decided to pay for. "

"This was my second stay at this location. It is just steps from the covered shopping areas and Nishiki Market. The hotel itself is very quiet and serene and boasts an interior courtyard with a tree growing in a shallow pool. Coffee and sake are complimentary in the lobby and the rooms feature traditional style furnishings, including a Hiba wood soaking tub. The showers are fantastic and having a laundry machine, fridge and microwave in each room is a welcome bonus. I really enjoy this hotel."

"This was one of my best experiences traveling to Kyoto. The staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and cozy. All the amenities were conveniently located, and we easily found everything we needed. We were traveling with our 1-year-old child, and having an entire house to ourselves—including space to store a stroller, a tatami room, and a proper bathroom—made our trip especially comfortable and enjoyable."

"Das Hotel arbeitet mit einem menschenlosen Check-In. Das funktionierte in meinem Fall nur bedingt. Zimmer war sehr sauber und wie angegeben ausgestattet. Die Fenster lassen sich nicht öffnen und sind aus Milchglas, sodass kein Blick nach draußen möglich ist. Zudem soll man ab 6 Uhr abends die Rollos schließen, damit kein Licht nach außen dringt. Ich habe es ein wenig erdrückend empfunden, nicht raus schauen zu können. Die Lage ist gut, genau zwischen Bahnhof und dem Gion Viertel. Man sollte...
