Bay la sun is the only hotel in KAEC,I had to do business there,and brought my family with me.
We booked through hotels.com,for payment upon check in as the only option.First sign of trouble was when they sent a message that they needed to charge the first night,and that they needed another card??I contacted them and cleared the issue with reservations.
When we arrived,the reception said that the previous rate does not apply,and that we should pay a hefty extra charge because it is a season!!Although our booking clearly said price match guaranteed.ALSO the breakfast inclusion is for adults only and the kids are extra charge!!
When the night manger finally came, he and the receptionist spoke in their native tongue,which we found to be very unprofessional,you either speak in the local language or in English. After 50 minutes of waiting in the lobby,with 2 sleepy kids,we were finally allowed to go to our rooms. Only after I showed them the email that I sent to hotels.com customer service!If we only knew that that was all it took!
The hotel itself is modern and clean, not a beachfront hotel as we expected,about 20-30 minutes on foot.Has a small gym for ladies,full gym,swimming pool,and a spa for gentleman.The breakfast is decent, we tried the dinner once,good choices,and nice staff.
The only complaint about the property is that it is a 7 story building,with 2 small elevators only.One broke down on our last day, and we got stuck it with one staff, who got us out.
