My family and I had a very comfortable 3-night stay at Happy Lands and visited Addo Elephant Park each day. On arrival, we were welcomed by the lovely host family to a very peaceful setting. The cottage patio looks onto beautiful gardens with mature trees. My husband wasn’t able to join us on this holiday, and we’ve already decided that we’d love to visit again to show him the farm.

We had a wonderful stay at Hitgeheim Country Lodge. The road in is a little rough, but as it is an eco reserve, that is to be expected and part of the experience. The reward is the wildlife along the way, and we were lucky enough to encounter some zebras. We chose a room with a private pool, which was absolutely beautiful and made our stay feel extra special. Lovely hotel to stay at when visiting Addo. Rooms are huge and the bathroom is lovely, especially the outdoor shower. Only downside is there is no door so the light comes in as soon as the sun rises.
10-15 min drive to Addo, not much in the local area.
Breakfast was good, buffet selection and eggs cooked to order. Nice pool with towels and sunscreen provided which was a nice touch.

This was a gem, large well appointed rooms set in lovely gardens and close to the Addo Game Reserve, the breakfast area outside was lovely, for dinner ate in a separate restaurant onsite, also in a lovely setting and the food was good though the wine choice: 1 white, 1 red and 1 rose was a little limited but we would come back.

Historic country hotel with great ambience and wonderful staff. We arrived during a cold snap to a warm welcome. There was a lovely wood fire burning in the reception/sitting area and we were offered tea/coffee with scones immediately after checking in. We were shown to our rooms which were a 2 minute walk from the main hotel area. The rooms were very spacious and clean, with all the amenities.
