Beautiful property, fantastic stay!

Fantastic super kind staff, the restaurant on site was incredible, and the glass cabins were beautiful! We absolutely loved our stay! Only negative to note which was not that big of a deal is on the shower there is a sign that says you only have 15 minutes of hot water per hour and in our experience we had about 9 minutes before it was freezing cold. All in all, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend!

I don't think there are enough words to describe our experience at Arctic Skylight Lodge! The glass cabin was just perfect with an amazing view and all the facilities we needed. Bed was comfortable, shower was nice, room was cosy and warm. Breakfast was ample and staff was very friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend this place!

Staff was excellent and helpful. We were in a fix trying to get to the hotel but Milla came to the rescue and we eventually got out of the fix and was able to enjoy our stay in the hotel. The restaurant within the hotel serves splendid 3 course dinner that is a must try. Does not pale in comparison to Michelin star restaurants. They are too underrated.

관광이 아닌 여행을 원하신다면 꼭 들려보세요. Truly an unspeakable experience. We visited in January 2025 to enjoy the Finnish winter, and this place provided an unforgettable time. We were lucky enough to see the aurora on our first night. Their spa facilities are excellent, and they even offer an ice bath experience in the river (we were too scared to try—lol). The cracking sounds in the forest were unlike anything we've experienced before. At first, it feels strange and intimate, but once you realize it's the sound of wood cracking due to the extreme cold, it becomes part of the unique natural experience. Coming from the U.S., we'd never heard anything like it. Interestingly, when we visited Saariselkä afterward, we didn’t hear that sound again—truly a one-of-a-kind memory. Overall, we had a great time. One small issue: we had heater problems twice during our 3-night stay. However, the maintenance team responded immediately and resolved the issue quickly. I believe this has likely been fully resolved by now. Oh, and their glögi? The best we had in all of Finland (we had glögi every day—lol). A truly wonderful experience.

This place is magical! The cabins were perfectly lovely and we got SO lucky with the Northern Lights. The restaurant was great, the food is fresh and delicious. The team working is so accommodating. My friend slipped and strained her ankle (her fault). They were so kind as to make her a basket for breakfast and picked us up at our cabin to drive us back up to check out so she didn't have to walk. The sauna, jacuzzi and ice dip are must do's as well! I will dream of this place for a while and hope to come back someday! Thank you so much for an incredible stay!

Magical night in the glass house

Beautiful stay at Arctic Skylight Lodge. I was traveling by myself from the Kolari railway station and took the Ski Bus to Akaslompolo center where I had a great lunch and then took a taxi to the Lodge (about 25 euros). I spent the day walking in the woods (there's a trail down to the lake / river) and sledding and obviously taking a ton of photos. The 3 course dinner at the Lodge was absolutely delicious. Slept like a baby, was woken up by Aurora Alert at 1am and saw them from my bed and woke up to a lovely sunny day and a great breakfast. I would have maybe liked some more Lappish / Finnish influences in the breakfast though, maybe some leipajuusto with cloudberry jam, rye bread etc. All in all an excellent stay! Will definitely return.

Die Glaskästen sind nett aber verlebt und werden nicht gut gereinigt, die Fenster hatten von ihnen Hand etc Abdrücke, das Waschbecken hatte braune Ränder und das Wasser floss nicht ab. Der Zugang zu den „Zimmern“ ist sehr rutschig, es wird nicht gestreut und der Weg ist nicht beleuchtet, dieser Zustand ist fahrlässig, da jeder von uns mehrere Male hingefallen ist. Das Restaurant ist in Ordnung aber im Ort kriegt man besseres Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Wir waren vier Nächte da (als einzige). Für eins zwei Nächte ist die Unterkunft ganz nett aber nicht mehr und genau so lieblos wird sie betrieben. Das Frühstück war ganz gut und das Personal freundlich.

Arctic Skylight Lodge

Absolutely amazing stay and can’t fault anything about it. The staff are lovely and so willing to help with anything, the food was exceptional and a real treat each evening and the accommodation was very comfortable. Saw the northern lights on two of three nights and they were stunning with the lack of light pollution around. Sauna and hot tub were a great experience and so was the very chilly dip in the river. Have recommended to all of my friends and will be back!

Glass house… dreamy views.

You have to sled your suitcases to your room, but the rooms are amazing. Clean, comfy, warm, and the glass surrounding you is unreal. We didn’t see the northern lights, but we were granted fantastic views of the Milky Way.

Luksusta ja vastinetta rahalle!

Majoitus oli aivan upea. Huoneessa tuoksui puhtaalle ja se oli todella siisti, mikä toi ylellisyyttä. Näkymät olivat huikeat, ja voin vain kuvitella, kuinka kaunista talvella olisikaan näissä maisemissa. Aamupala tarjoiltiin pöytiin, mikä sai aamun tuntumaan mukavan rauhalliselta. Henkilökunta kruunasi yöpymisen, sillä he olivat todella mukavia. Vaikea keksiä tästä majoituksesta huonoa sanottavaa, koska olimme erittäin tyytyväisiä yöhömme! Jos jotain, niin olisin kaivannut jääkaappia sekä kokovartalopeiliä huoneen varusteluihin, mutta ilman näitäkin pärjäsi oikein mainiosti. Tämä majoitus on luksusta kotimaassa. Todella vahva suositus!

Beautiful place

Amazing place! The room was great. The sauna absolutely amazing and breakfast was the best! Service big thumbs up. If I had to mention one thing I would say to get curtains or something on the cabin door cause you can see in every cabin through it and most people kept the bathroom door open to obscure the view.
