"The property is unique and the setting is beautiful. We could tell it was once a magnificent mansion. The view is stunning of the bay. Because of the age it is in need of updates. The paint is peeling and the furnishing are old. The bed is comfortable and we slept well.
The method of communication is interesting. When we arrived we pulled into the driveway and I entered in through a sliding glass door. It was open and there was a welcome sign. There was also an indoor pool that is not accessible...

"I stayed at the property for 3 days this week while the labor union was protesting out front and literally had a marching band that kept me up all night. I called guest services and they offered earplugs. They could not move my room. I literally got no sleep for a business trip. The protesting disturbs customers more than the business. In good faith, I could never stay here again, it was handled terribly."

"Clean room, helpful and kind staff. Great location for restaurants and shopping. Enjoyed breakfast at hotel. Room was a little dark for me but in line with the moody vibe of the hotel which was cool. Shower was great and nice bathroom, although vanity surrounding sink looked dated. Will stay again when in Boston!"

"This is a lovely boutique hotel in a charming location where the stroll to dining and artisan shops was right outside their doors. The happy hour wine and charcuturie was lovely and the food at the restaraunt Perigrine is exceptional. Compliments to the chef! Staff are welcoming and helpful including cheerfully accomodating a room shift at the beginning for an upgrade with a river view. Highly recommended."
