"The lodge is beautiful in very peaceful area, it was very clean with everything we needed. We used it mainly for a base as we were traveling so only really slept there. The lodge is situated between 2 other properties and would benefit ( I’m my opinion) with blinds on all lower windows. The bed is very comfortable but a bit on the narrow side. "The front sign states restraunt and bar, neither is true. I was asked to pay £10 a night for our dog stay, it was cash in hand to the owners wife for pocket money. Owner not sociable or approachable. Receptionist and cleaner were both very helpful and very friendly. Big damp patch on roof above bed. Business executive room was small double room. I got the room because of the bath, i had recently had a major operation and needed to have a bath daily, only one day of hot water even after asking for it to be put on. Heating was a joke. Cleaning gets done at the end of the week when you leave, we had to ask daily for tea and coffee. Shower constantly cold. Parking was small and had several big works vans. Owner invisible on daily basis behind clised door. I would not recommend staying here. Major concearn was that the fire door with sign "Keep closed" outside our room area was actually daily held open with a fire extinguisher. "
