The check-in lobby didn't have a/c and spiderwebs & spiders everywhere. Room smelled like butt. I was literally the ONLY person staying there that night

The Homegate Inn in Louisville, Mississippi is one of the worst motel/hotels I think I’ve ever stayed at. And I’ve stayed at LOTS of them. Everything was all run down when I’m checked into my room. The room was so hot and had the worst cigarette smell and mold stench I’ve ever had in a motel. I walked into my room and started sneezing and coughing as soon as I walked into the room when I complained all they would do is spray some Lysol and that was supposed to take care of it, but it didn’t help at all, so I still wound up having to stay because I couldn’t find another place to stay. The chair, couch and carpet are all ripped and stained up. The ONLY thing that was decent is the air conditioner. It actually cools the room off doesn’t get rid of the stink, but it does at least keep the room nice and cool. The motel is 30 miles from the church where my grandson is getting married. He’s lucky that I wanted to come to his wedding so much. Otherwise, this place would be nowhere close to be worth coming here.

The rooms were horrible, the beds were stained the couch was stained, the floors were dirty and stained, towels and wash clothes very dingy! It was a horrible experience

TERRIBLE ALL THE WAY AROUND

30 minutes before trying to check in at HomeGate Hotel in Louisville, I made reservation online to speed up check in. This was well after normal check in time around 7 pm. We had a service animal with us. We were informed that there would be a $500 extra charge as well as the $100 cleaning fee. I explained that the dog is registered. The manager was very rude when I tried to explain that the ADA covers service animals without extra charges. Never got key and was told he could not refund money because Hotels.com made reservation. Hotels.com service tells me that since it was after check in time, I could not get money refunded. Even though reservation was made well after their check in time to begin with.

Property is dated. Owner has blocked off access to lobby and looks like he has made it his office. All transactions are done in the Air Lock between the outside and door and the door to lobby. It was clean and Owner was nice. I forgot my key and had to wake him up and he came to window with just a t-shirt and towel on - again very nice man but it could use a refresh

The gentleman at the check in counter was nice and pleasant. This is an older motel that just happens to have a microwave and small fridge so now it is an Inn? Facility is covered with spiderwebs and so is the room. The floor had not been vacuumed and my non smoking room had bedding with cigarette burns. If you need towels, it is your responsibility to bring them to the front counter to trade them in. I also did not care for the tracking of my vehicle.

I didn’t even stay here. Staff was unpleasant, wouldn’t even consider letting us check in an hour early. . It was just a bad experience overall. DO NOT recommend. Lost my money and will never book this place again.

Staff in office was not very friendly and took to long to get us checked in. We reserved a non smoking room with king bed. The room we got had two double beds with sway back mattress. Will never stay there again. Only stayed one night but paid for two. I was told that I had contact Expedia to see about getting a refund

Place to crash

Lobby is closed, outside a little tired, room in decent condition, shower curtain very moldy, headboard broken, A/C good. Got into room at 1:30am and out before 8am so were not there long; not a bad place to crash for some shut eye.
