"The room was clean and spacious. The hotel is a lovely old mansion style on the top of the hill, overlooking Westport and Clew Bay. The views from the dining room were beautiful. The pool and steam rooms were very nice. It's a 15 minute walk, down the hill, into the centre of town."

"The guesthouse is perfectly set up for the convenience of travellers. It is close to major routes, but not noisy at night. The rooms are clean and spacious and the dining area is roomy and gracious. The staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Some suggestions were made by Hilary that resulted in our having a wonderful day."

"My wife and I spent 30 days traveling all over Ireland. We stayed in first class hotels all over the country except for in the North because we have our own place. we can not say enough about Ashford Castle and the staff. From the minute you arrive until your parting goodbye, it was first class all the way. We will definitely be back again, please God, to stay for longer than our first trip."

"Clean and quiet lodge great for anyone looking for a peaceful stay. A 10 minute walk into the town and a 20 minute bus ride to Connemara National Park which was absolutely stunning. The breakfast was quite good as well for a buffet style arrangement, able to have a full Irish if you so please as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal. The staff were very accommodating as there were huge delays with the rails and a missed train the day we arrived and we didn't get in until after 8 pm with no problems."
