"Travelers need to understand that Nantucket is a serene, unplugged,and historic place. The Martin House is an excellent example of a historic house turned into a boutique B & B (breakfast is light continental). There is no elevator. You walk the stairs if you are staying on the 2nd or 3rd floor.
We had a wonderful time here. Everything was a short walk from the Martin House. The manager, David, was gracious and accommodating and his homemade granola was excellent. Pastry choices were...

"So enjoyed our stay at the ever-so-charming Blue Iris in Nantucket! Needed a bit of help before we even arrived and were taken care of perfectly. We were always greeted by friendly staff coming and going from the house. We stayed in room #5, which was so cute and private. The room was small, but comfortable and the bathroom had plenty of space for 2. We even decided to spend a little extra time there in the afternoons because we liked it so much. "The hotel is very nice/upscale. However, they lease a downstairs area to a restaurant that they have no control over. Our room was directly on top and music played rather loudly until 10 PM. Nothing to be done!
This is a real disadvantage and needs to be considered before considering this hotel."

"The hotel location is beautiful. The building is well kept and clean. The staff was amazing! We loved our room overall but there were a few minor inconveniences:
1. The shower handle kept getting stuck and was hard to turn off.
2. We went in April and the room got very hot at night. You couldn’t change the room thermostat from hot to cold. So they told us to open the windows, which let a bee inside our room because the windows had no nets. "
