"Rating is based on the fact it is a camp. The staff is great, really friendly and take good care of you. They helped with anything we needed. It is a bit hard to find, but they met us on the road and brought us to the camp site. The location is well kept. Since it is a camp, there are bugs, there are reptiles, but the staff do their best to keep them out of your way. The breakfast was great and very peaceful."

"La Pentera is a new property which has a unique concept of a tree house. The property is quite far from the Udawalawe National Park - about 30 km or so. The directions are also unclear, even if you use googlemaps. The property is new and in great condition. However, there are things that could be better, especially the food. The bathroom has hot water though there is some water leakage. A great experience stay but could be better."

"I can’t recommend this place enough! Great communication with Eric all the way through, we came a bit late, and before we could order our meals over email and it was ready. Great WiFi! "This could be something so special. The location itself is amazing and the accommodation for ‘camping’ is incredible. The service wasn’t great however. As kind as everyone was the timings were very off. Being told we needed to be ready for breakfast at 8 and not being served till 9.30. The same for dinner. We also told them we needed to leave on the final day at 7.30 so wanted breakfast at 7. We arrived at the breakfast tent at 7 and no one was there. Unfortunately it was the same for the bush walks and the other activities. We request to do the 16km walk they advertised in their welcome message and on their website and they told us it wasn’t possible. We were told there would be a bush walk at 9 and we didn’t leave till 12 which was fine for us but for an 84 year old guest in the group it probably wasn’t the best time of day to go walking and all the animals would have been hiding from the sun. Such a shame as your rely so heavily on the hotel team given you are in the middle of no where "
