"The hotel was tired and in need of renovation.
Furniture was outdated and in many cases had damage such as scratches, gouges and stains. Most concerning was the fact that a large section of the carpeting between one of the queen beds and the in-room HVAC unit was soaking wet due to a probable condensation leak.
The bathroom tub had a broken stopper mechanism, so the hotel had simply provided a rubber drain stopper instead. Not what I would expect from a hotel so highly rated on...
"This is a perfectly fine mid-tier, midtown hotel. Good bed, good shower, friendly front desk. What's the issue? On my first stay there, they chose to put me in the worst room on the whole property. You know, the one out back that sits just directly adjacent/above the bank of industrial AC fans and motors and blinking lights, all of which howl and blink all night long, and all because I paid less than the rack rate by booking via Expedia. And, I'm fairly certain that the place was not at all...
