We stayed two nights at this small mountain resort. A simply outstanding experience - we'd absolutely return in a heartbeat.
This is a small (20 or so rooms) historic, but fully remodeled mountain lodge. The (re-)design is very modern yet warm, and centered around the local Burel (felt-like) fabric. Views from the rooms and restaurant are heavenly!
The service is warm and friendly, yet professional and at 5 star level. The restaurant with dinner and breakfast amazed us given the small size of the hotel.
As for activities, there are a few very nice mountain hikes close by. The well maintained in- and outdoor pool and sauna area is a real treat after a hike. We also participated in the tour of the nearby mid-size burel factory the hotel is affiliated with, and can highly recommend it - you get to see the end-to-end process how raw sheep wool is turned into the final product.
One item to be aware of: the hotel is located in the "eye" of a switchback curve of a small country road. There isn't much traffic, but during day hours a car might pass by every few minutes or so.
Overall, this has been so far the best hotel in Portugal that we have stayed in.
