We had a little difficulty on arrival because there was a no entry sign across the road leading to the village and we went past it. We eventually found our way and had to swerve round the barrier. Had we been told about this, we would have found the village more easily. The once abandoned hilltop village has been sensitively restored and is now mainly reliant on tourism. Our house was typical - a large picture window with views over wooded hillsides, plenty of solid wooden beams and...

10/10 Excellent

Really very nice. Just outside the centre and old quarter but easy enough to walk. Parking isn’t private. It’s in the road but easy enough and close enough. I would say a very safe area. Breakfast was on the roof terrace (or inside). Very nice. Decent enough selection. Continental style. Very nicely presented. Room was fairly small but totally sufficient. Bed too hard for me but ok for my husband. We are all different. Very good pillows and linen. Very clean. We walked to a good...

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful palace and it was truly great value for money. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, with daily cleaning service that made our stay even more comfortable. The location is stunning, surrounded by nature and peaceful countryside, with lovely farm animals adding to the charm. One of our favourite parts was the amazing wildlife pond filled with frogs and beautiful water lilies, as well as the picturesque olive orchard. The breakfast buffet was...

Sapientia Boutique Hotel

Coimbra City Centre

10/10 Excellent

We had a fantastic stay in the Sapentia. We were there for a week and got to know the local area well and built a nice relationship with the staff too. The Hotel is situated in great spot, some of the rooms have great views towards the river. The only issue is parking. The location is on a tiny street adjacent to the University. If you can, don’t have a car. If you do, prepare to have to move to about a bit potentially. The hotel helped us a lot and we managed ok, the car remained, miraculously,...

Rabumba - Aveiro Central Lodging

Aveiro

8/10 Good

The apartment was really well located. Close to canals but not directly in the busy centre. Plenty of good restaurants nearby and 15 minutes walk to rail station and near bus stop for Costa Nova. Inside was recently refurbished. Bed was comfy. More thought required for kitchen- corkscrew but no wine glasses, good knives but tiny chopping board, espresso cups but no coffee maker. Toilet would be a challenge for large people.
