A fantastic family owned and run Inn with a brilliant welcome. These people really care and are passionate about the guest experience. A beautiful historic property with a lovely warm ambience. Comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean and in the perfect spot for exploring the squam lake region and the northern NH scenic trails. A lot of sustainable practice and locally sourced ingredients adds to the experience.

One of the best Bed and Breakfasts we have stayed in over the years. Hosts Nick and Amy made us very welcome and we would recommend to anyone thinking of booking. Beautiful house and immaculate. Restaurants within walking distance in this lovely town. Pity we could not have stayed longer.

I don't usually review, but the Ballard was such a lovely experience! It's a beautiful, historic inn, and our room was comfortable, nicely furnished, and spotless. There are a couple of comfortable sitting rooms for the guests to use, and the view across the trees down to a lake from the veranda was lovely. Mark and Lyn were somewhat surprised to find we had arrived in Meredith by bus! Not to be recommended. Taxied up to their charming hotel. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, homemade granola, yoghurt and raspberry couli, followed by poached pears and Mark's soda bread. Lyn took us down to the lake for a trip and collected us in the afternoon. They could not have been kinder or more concerned that we enjoyed our stay. We loved it.

Lovely, very high end hotel set in stunning surroundings. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Room was well appointed, comfortable and quiet. Great bed. Food was lovely (best chowder in NE!). Highly recommend this oasis of quality and comfort.

These cabins are amazing. Nothing extravagant but Everything you need for a stay in the woods. As the cabins are remote check in, the cabin number and access code are normally text 30 mins before check in. However i was worried as i only had a data SIM card and no US number. I messaged a couple of days before to ask for them to be emailed to me in stead. The communication was excellent. We did have to message again at 4 to get the the details. Fantastic. We have been travelling for the last 10 days and only use the Hilton group as we are diamond members and I have remained loyal to the group. We have found the Hilton hotels to be shabby nothing special and expensive. We decided to change to try this hotel and WOW …. It is fantastic. It is modern clean and has great facilities in the room including real,glasses and mugs …not paper cups which we have had over the last week. The setting overlooking the lake was beautiful, everyone working in the Inn was very friendly and helpful and the dogs were great fun too! Lake view rooms are superb. So big and furnished well too. Exceptionally clean and amenities for tea and coffee really good too

A real gem. I highly recommend this hotel. We were travelling grandparents with two under 5 and friends. The room was great including a kitchen with two ring hob, dishwasher, microwave, waste disposal and sink, equipped with everything we needed. The staff were particularly friendly and not only would we stay here again but our friends plan to stay here next year too.

I didnt use the gym or pool in the end but i did check them out and they looked good. The room was spacious and comfortable and clean not much more you can ask for really. Only place ive stayed on my trip that ive had to pay for parking so far though

Excellent hotel,spotless everywhere, staff very friendly and very helpful, will even book tickets for you for example to the Cog Railway at Mount Washington which is fantastic, wrap up warm it was freezing at the top. Breakfast was cereals, muffins, bagels, yohurts, fruit etc., fresh and plentiful. No where to eat out on site but you have kitchen area if you want to cook for yourselves or very good restaurants about 3/4 miles away but we chose to have a take away delivered to the hotel on 2...
