Casa by Frida Kahlo was one of the best stays I’ve experienced. The apartments are incredibly cute! The furniture is comfy, the colors and general decor is cozy and bound to put you in a good mood. The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. The location is perfect, most everything is a lovely walking distance if you’re trying to experience Roma Norte/Condesa and other close neighborhoods. There’s a charming little cafe on the property where you can enjoy a cup of coffee street side. 10/10 recommended!

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
The property is gorgeous, and the staff were helpful. We had an apartment-style room, which was very beneficial for our longer stay. However, there are many things that need to be worked out, as this is a newer hotel, and I can use that as an excuse for why certain systems were not in place. 1) The staff was hesitant to give us more towels for a ten-day stay, after having asked for more from the front desk. 2) Multiple cockroaches were seen throughout the duration of our stay, despite our keeping the kitchen area clean. There was no system for us to dispose of our trash during our ten-day stay. I believe this hotel has the potential to be a great place to stay once the systemic issues are resolved and pest control is implemented.
NO AC in the property. Fans were made available on request. No coffee in the room - pay extra at the coffee shop on the property.
Bathrooms/towels/furniture are ok (worn out & not premium as the pics indicate). Cockroach occasionally in the bathroom. Water pressure/ hot water spotty.
We handled everything else just fine. However, for us the weather was hot/humid and we were sweating the first night. Took a while for staff to find the fans (helpful staff !). Property refused to refund preventing us from rebooking another property.
Most disappointing was Expedia's customer service. First had an SLA of upto 48/72 hrs - which does not serve realtime issues. Additonaly, expedite requests with agents did not result in any updates. After which I asked my request be escalated. The escalation manager over chat and phone claimed the weather was pleasant & the property did not explicitly mention in the AC - so no refund.
Good to know Expedia now decides how we should feel about the weather. Expedia does NOT support you in such scenarios. Unfortunately for us having paid the $$$ we were stuck for 3 more nights.
Beware of the the disclaimers above and the property is ok then. Don't rely on Expedia to back you !
We stayed in the 3-bedroom apartment at Casa by Frida Kahlo in Mexico City, and it was the perfect size for our family of five. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, making it a great option for traveling with kids.
Upon arrival, Carmen was very welcoming and helpful during check-in, which made the process easy and stress-free.
Our only issues were with our first-floor apartment. The bedroom window faced a busy main street, so there was a lot of traffic noise, car honking, and an outdoor gym/park where people gathered with music playing late into the night. It was especially difficult the first night since we were exhausted from traveling. We also had a leak in the ceiling of the master bedroom, and water was dripping onto our bed.
Thankfully, after we reported the issue, the staff moved us to a fifth-floor apartment. It was much quieter, and we really enjoyed the rest of our stay.
Overall, we had a good experience. The apartment was spacious, the staff was kind and responsive, and once we were moved, everything was much more enjoyable.
La propiedad estaba súper céntrica y encantadora. AMEEE el cuarto. Para mí solo fue súper limpio y agusto.
Pienso regresar en mi siguiente viaje. 10/10 lo recomiendo
