I have stayed at Sayaji Indore, Sayaji Kolhapur, have dined at Sayaji Pune, and each of this was a very satisfactory experience. Therefore, I booked Effotel Sayaji in Sangali expecting it to be equally good. But it turned out to be exactly the opposite.
The checkout time is 10:00 and we reached the hotel at 1900. Even if the room meant for us was occupied the previous night, they had 9 hours to get it ready for us. Yet, the room wasn't ready when we reached, and we had to wait.
We had booked and paid for 3 occupants. In all good hotels our experience is they bring a folding bed for the 3rd occupant. No such thing here. A mattress on the floor.
Despite having booked for 3 occupants, the room had towels, coffee mugs, only for two. (and a toothbrush only for one !) We had to ask for utilities for the third person. After several reminders a towel was given, but not the coffee mug.
Having dinner in the 13th floor restaurant, there was a power failure. The generator took almost 10 minutes to start. Apart from darkness, the hall became very hot and stuffy. On top of that they levied a 5% Service Charge in a Buffet !!
As for internet, I tried to pay for the dinner using my card. But the card-swipe machine did not work in the restaurant; didn't work in my room either. Finally, at the reception it wroked, but only when it was taken near the main door.
On the whole a very disapointing experience from Sayaji. I would not stay at this Sayaji ever again.
