"We really enjoyed our stay at The Hoxton, Lloyd. It’s in a more residential part of Amsterdam, which was a nice escape from the chaos of the city center while still being easy to get around.
The building is older and a little quirky, with a very cool mod-inspired design. That also means narrow hallways and air conditioning that may have its limits during hotter weather, but the temperature was completely manageable during our stay. Personally, I liked the funkiness of the building. It has a lot more personality than your standard hotel.
Breakfast was fantastic. I’m not usually someone who feels strongly enough about scrambled eggs to mention them in a hotel review, but these were genuinely the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. We also had cocktails at the bar in the evenings, and they were consistently well made.
If you prefer a cookie-cutter hotel, this probably isn’t the place for you. If you like older buildings with some character, a quieter location, great food, and a good bar, it’s a very easy place to recommend."
