Where do I begin.
We were in Building A, which was extremely difficult to find due to very poor lighting in the parking lot. Upon entering the building, it was immediately apparent how dirty it was. The bright green carpet throughout was heavily soiled, and the elevator carpet was dirty and ripped. Even the stairwells were unclean.
This building should not be open to guests.
The room itself was equally unacceptable. The carpets were stained, the sheets were stained, and the baseboards and walls were visibly dirty. The pull-out couch was horrific — I have never slept on anything so uncomfortable or unsanitary. The TV was also broke, no linens for the pull out couch.
I contact front desk to ask for another room he told me they were sold out. I reached out to management to request a refund and they denied me because I booked through Expedia. I was very disappointed on how management. Handled the request. I will never stay at another Marriott hotel.
Do not book this hotel!

The staff themselves were great, including the front desk and the ones managing the breakfast. Breakfast itself had some variety and a good selection of condiments. Though, it is a little cumbersome to have to walk to the other side of the room to get the hot water for the instant oatmeal. We appreciated the complimentary cookies and drinks in the lobby.
Our main issue were with our rooms...I'm not sure if maybe it's because my communication said check-in was at 3 pm but perhaps it's 4 pm so we didn't get the best of rooms? But our rooms were cold and though there were 2 plug-in heaters, two of our children slept in the living room area and were cold at night. The lighting was poor in the living room area and over the desk in the bedroom. One of the trash cans wasn't lined and we found a couple of bugs in the pull-out couch bed.

Booked a hotel night so kids could swim over winter break, only to show up and find out the pool has been closed for a couple weeks due to an issue. Annoyed that they do not post a warning about closed amenities. Front desk staff was nice enough to call a sister-hotel (12 mins away) to allow us to swim there. Not super convenient, but was a gesture that most others will offer.

The Pool was under construction - which was not clearly noted any fine print or website. I would have never booked here. The room I booked with "fire place " did not have a working fire place - although at check in when I clearly stated make sure we are out in a room that has one - as was reassured this would happen. Upon reaching out to management, I was told none of the fire places work .

Not up to par for a Residence Inn. Although the rooms were very spacious they needed updated furniture. When we walked in the couch. Cushions were ripped, torn and the table chairs were very worn with little leather left on them. It looked like I walked into a one-star hotel

This hotel needs some refurbishing, although generally, except for the HVAC, it's a nice place at a reasonable rate.
They have an excellent breakfast every morning, and the work out room is very nice too.
The fireplace rooms were not available because they're not working. The first room I was assigned had no heat, and the outside temperatures were in the teens. They did move me to another room that had some heat. The next day I purchased a small space heater from the Ace Hardware store across the street, and with that the temperature was very nice for my two week stay.

The Marriott Residence Inn Mystic Groton is not up to the standard of a Marriott property. This location was old, outdated and the room was in poor condition. The bathroom had mold, the chairs at the table were old, deteriorated and ripped. An electric fireplace in the room did not work. Carpets in the room and facility are dirty and could use significant updates.

Fantastic stay at Residence Inn. Front Desk team was great with check in and check out. We were provided a list of various hot spots in the area which we were able to use while exploring Mystic.
Only issue we dealt with was the HVAC system in the room did not work and not all the windows had screens in them when we opened them to air out the suite.

I made reservations a month in advance. They called me at 4:30 PM right before I arrived and said that there was a glitch and I had no reservation. They gave me a downgrade for a room. No kitchen, I had brought food to cook. Ruined my plans.and sent me two towns over to one of their subpar affiliates, the room had no kitchen, and the microwave didn’t even work. It was dirty. Service was terrible. It was a Springhill suites or something like that. I should have been given compensation above what I had asked for in the first place. But I got no compensation. I guess I was lucky to have any place to stay. Or that’s the way they think anyway.Not happy at all. I’ll be staying with Hilton from now on.
