The first night we looked at the lake but also the road so there was a lot of road noise. The second night they moved us to look at the church and it was wonderful, no noise at all. The hotel needs to put soft close hinges on their doors because everytime someone closes their door it shakes your room. The dining room for dinner was great.

The hotel is very nice. The architectural design and interior design are unique in very positive ways. Our stay was a simple one night stay and worked perfectly for us.

After staying in hostels for a week this was heaven. So nice to stay at a hotel. The staff was so nice!!! The front desk agent was awesome!! (I forgot his name i'm so sorry but he's from spain and has moved around quite a bit and plans to go back to spain eventually!!!) he was so nice!!!! I enjoyed our stay so much! The restaurant breakfast was amazing.

We last minute booked as are original stay we were in able to get to due to the weather. The staff were super helpful and got us a room and upgraded us to have a view. The hot tubs were super clean and amazing after a travel day. The breakfast was so great, I am gluten free and asked if they had any options, the server told me yes if I can wait 10 minutes. He brought me fresh bread and a few minutes later brought out fresh baked pastries too. Not many places are very accommodating so this was so appreciated. Definitely recommend this place as the staff are amazing, foods great, and the rooms are nice/clean.

Hotel was very cute! They seemed short staffed in the bar/restaurant and I felt pressured into getting the breakfast at a “discount” upon check-in. I caved and it wasn’t worth it. The rooms are very cute and comfy though.

Rooms and breakfast buffet were excellent. Location is great but very limited choice for dining in the area. Fish and Chip Restaurant nearby is awful…don’t waste your money.

We thought the hotel would be great from the reviews. But when we got there the hotel was nice at first a bit too modern in the hallways. I thought the room numbers were a bit on the ugly side. But I digress. The main issue I had with the hotel was the resteraunt. We had an absolutely TERRIBLE experience. The kitchen was understaffed that night. And there was just one waiter. We were not told this when we sat down. As we would have left if we knew this. As our main food dish took 1 hour and 50 minutes to get to us. And our water was empty for 45 minutes while asking for refills 5 seperate times. Now I understand, this isn’t the waiters fault. It’s a result of the kitchen being under staffed. But still frustrating when we weren’t told them were essentially trapped into waiting. Not knowing when our food would arrive. Then when it did arrive my wife and I ordered the beef tenderloin, and it was over cooked and dry. Badly. And we had to send it back because it was too bad. Drinks were very expensive too. Almost 30$ usd a drink. All in all our experience took 3 hours start to finish and we left unsatisfied and annoyed. They did remove the charge for the beef tenderloins we did not eat But we weren’t given a discount for the inconveniences, or an apology or an explanation as to why everything took so long. And that was kind of frustrating as well.

Myvatn is a special place. Hotel was very pricey. We had a problem with our room, it was too hot, uncomfortable, even with heat off. And it was cold out, not sure what they do in summer. Staff was great and found a nearby room for us to move to. Inconvenient doing so but grateful we could. Loved, loved, loved the outdoor "hotpot" or hot tub. Wind whistling, rain falling it was wonderful & peaceful. Breakfast included with hotel stay was very, very nice, so much high-quality, homemade authentic Icelandic food. Thank you!

I like the building’s simple and contemporary style, super clean everywhere, the staff was so friendly and helpful! We had the breakfast and the dinner in their restaurant, both were very good.

Excellent hotel
The property and rooms were great. We didnt check out the hot tub or hotel on-site dining. The casual place nearby was ok. Well-situated in terms of other sites to see.

Cramped rooms but comfortable and clean
Rooms were rather cramped; there wasnt enough space to open 2 small/medium suitcases. Otherwise the service was friendly and rooms were clean and bed was comfortable

Great location when staying in the Myvatn area. Many tour operators leave directly from this hotel’s parking lot. The hotel has a reservations only restaurant on site but we ate at the more casual restaurant and bar just across the parking lot…loved it, the have a soup buffet you can just walk in and start enjoying after a day of activities. Our room was great with a wonderful view of the lake. I had one problem with the door lock that was addressed immediately by hotel staff. Would definitely stay here again.
