"Maswick is convenient and clean but it would be a second best compared to other properties not listed on Expedia - visit the Grand Canyon site for Bright Angel lodge cabins or El Tovar for luxury. If you choose Maswick ask for Shasta or Trilobite compound room looking over forest, second floor. If you don’t mind older cabins you will have more of a forest environment. Cafeteria is okay for food on the go but the pizza restaurant is very good. For a nice meal go to Bright Angel tavern. Have a cocktail at El Tavor bar. Wake up early for sunrise and get to the rim for sunset too! Don’t miss the Brightly Angel hike - go at least to 1.5 mile rest stop. Coming up is not too difficult. Mules cost $500 a trip for 6 hours but might be worth it? Don’t miss Hopi House - the Native Americans art is amazing! Everyone in the park were so kind and relaxed, many live there!! - nicer than Zion Park. Heard a short part of Ranger talk and wish could have had time for the whole thing!! What a truly Grand spot!!"
"The room was simple and small but met our needs, except that the sink did not drain. Only the trash was cleared on our second day — no bed making or other tidying. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner, though pricy, and reservations far in advance are usually needed. The location is excellent and well worth the stay."
"The rooms are “fine”. Generally clean and everything works. Seriously lacking outlets and we wish we had brought something to supplement. Fridge was okay but not very cold. Water pressure in the shower is pretty good but the drains were very slow in multiple rooms we had. The sink water was not very high pressure. But you are two minutes from the Grand Canyon. And being on property close to amenities is very nice. It’s a two star room in a 5 star location. We were there to see the Canyon. It’s amazing."
"Loved the balcony overlooking the atrium. We didn’t eat breakfast because it was cheaper to go to McDonalds across the street. Only downside was the outside entrance. Super close to the Grand Canyon without being inside the park."
