Character, quality, location. This place has it all. It’s a style of accommodation I hadn’t met before, a luxury hotel room with bathroom (amazing shower) plus well-equipped backpacker-style shared kitchen. Outdoor eating areas will be lovely in summer.

They do not have a foyer. It was pouring with rain. There is no roof to stand under. The woman would not let me in as she could not find info from Expedia. Rooms have an electronic number entry that is easy once you know how but you have to enter a number and wait until you hear a click before you can open the door. There is a different number fir the room door from the main entry. The movement on the floor from upstairs guests woke me early. The stairs squeak too.

U Boutique is a historic house that has been remodelled as a hotel. Rooms have ensuite bathrooms and there is one shared kitchen for the whole hotel. We found it clean, well equipped and the staff were helpful and friendly. It has off-street parking and is close to the CBD

Good location. Room comfortable. However, fan inadequate for the heat and room windows didn't open. Also not soundproof. Could hear neighbour snoring and also someone having a shower after midnight.
