Winter brings powder-perfect skiing at nearby Brundage Mountain, while summer days are best spent kayaking on Payette Lake or picking huckleberries along forest roads.
I ended up here because there was a fire at my initial hotel. I plan on returning to Best Western. The beds were comfy and had 4 pillows (different squishiness, so that was nice) but it was the staff that made my stay amazing. I got really sick one night and sent my daughter in search of a coke and some ice. The machine wasn't working, but the night desk guy (I think it was John) helped my daughter get a coke, ice and some advil. He went out of his way to help us.

Was a great place for a stopover on the long journey from Vegas to Canada (not the only stop!) - very little in the town (not in a bad way, it's s stopover place), but this is by far the best hotel in the area. It's well constructed, there is a nice pool and hot tub and the staff are relatively friendly, but expect a little "local" flavour rather than big city service mentality (that's not meant as negative as it sounded!)
