I stayed in a single "cabin" room which is a good description and the photos are accurate. It is a clean, quiet, place to sleep and has a shared bath down the hall. It is what people used to do all the time - small rooms, shared bath, and you go out to socialize. Convenient to the Whitney, Chelsea Market and fancy stores - I was smitten with this hotel that is more like a shipboard experience - and at half the price of most other nearby places. Not for everyone, but I liked it.

I've stayed at The Jane many times over the years. The recent configuration has lost the charm of the past. The desk staff was alright but not engaging. And the room was too damn hot. I had the window open in mid-November with the A/C running and it was too hot to sleep. I guess I'll find somewhere else to stay next time.

It’s a lovely, clean hotel in the meat packing district. The rooms are extremely narrow, so fitting in large luggage can be a bit of an issue. The beds are comfortable and the communal bathrooms are immaculate.
