I contacted the hotel through email, but they didnât reply. I wanted to reserve a private bath for us but Ofcourse no reply so it didnât happen. I wanted to reach out through Expedia but that didnât work either. On Expedia the room details were false. The photos did not match the room we got. We requested a non smoking room and ended up getting a smoking room. When we asked the staff they sprayed a air freshener in the room which didnât do anything. I guess if you arenât Japanese itâs just hard to communicate and they donât try either. The property itself is nice. Just need more communication for foreigners or else donât put thier listing up for them. There is also a fee for using the public bath.
I arrived earlier than the check in time. The hotel staff at the time is not helpful. He didnât know anything.

Not worth your money
Wanting to splurge, I found the Kinagawa Plaza Hotel. It seemed nice on the website and had most amenities, so we splurged. After arriving a bit early, the hotel was a ghost town and staff member at reception told us we had to wait til 3PM to check in, despite no one else being there. We lingered in the lobby long enough (5mins) to make them nervous and without us requesting it, checked us in, which was nice. Only to find out that the room we got was half the size of the one we reserved. It technically met the âsuiteâ with outside bath requirement, but was half the size of the one we had thought we reserved and paid for. Staff at reception spoke almost no english so after some back and forth on Google translate, they agreed to exchange the room to the one pictured. Much more spacious than the first one, still pretty run down. Air conditioner was non-existent. It was only one night we stayed, which was tolerable, but not worth it. Disappointment was an understatement having stayed at the Conrad Tokyo the night before in an actual suite for about the same price I was charged at the Kinugawa Plaza. Just find a place to stay in actual Nikko, not 1 hour outside of it, with better reviews and bang for your buck.
