"We stayed in Room 1. It was spotless and spacious with tea and coffee and bottled water. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was outstanding with a good selection of hot and cold options including full and small English to healthy vegetarian options. We chose The Ship Inn because of its location within walking distance to the beach and the ability to easily get on walking trails. "What a wonderful place to stay, the location is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful stay over looking a large lake. Our room was great, comfy bed and had its own sitting room so plenty of space to relax. The staff were so friendly and I really felt nothing would have been too much to if we asked. We didn't book a table for the evening but they made sure one was free for us. We are already planning on going back."

" Booked overnight stay following a music event nearby. Booked Riverside Hotel, but they obviously own several properties nearby. Our room was in a converted house up a side road so sadly no Riverside view. Room was very preventable. Needs a net curtain at window to aid privacy, better quality mattresses and pillows. Cleaner needs to look up & dust light fittings. "

"We wish we had known about this place earlier, it is great. Lovely characterful ensuite bedrooms , charming, helpful hosts and superb breakfasts . Location is great for walking into the city and the nearby Black Horse pub is handy for meals. Easy parking too. Why did we go to generic chains when we could have stayed somewhere this special? "
