"The views and Hill Country setting are beautiful. We enjoyed a relaxing engagement getaway, and the spa is exceptional. don’t skip it! The proximity to the mall was a highlight for us.
That said, the rooms feel a bit dated, the beds are not luxe, and the bedding feels sparse. Aside from the patio restaurant which had a fabulous steak and waiter, the food quality on site was surprisingly poor considering the $600+ nightly rate. The chicken was rubbery, produce lacked freshness, and sides tasted canned. My fiancé’s chicken wings were served cold inside twice.
We kept dining on property hoping for a better experience, but were consistently disappointed. I’d recommend eating elsewhere.
We were a bit frustrated by the concierge’s misguidance. She directed us to the golf course restaurant after a long travel day, only for us to arrive as it was closed.
The golf pub appeared understaffed, likely due to a conference or private event. The bartender was doing her best while managing a large crowd, and we felt for her. Her lack of support resulted in her seeming stressed, which took away from the overall light and joyful vibe you prefer when on vacation. Not her fault.
We did enjoy staying on the SEVEN floor. The lounge access, snacks, happy hour, and evening offerings were a nice touch, and the attendant was warm, lovely, attentive, and welcoming.
Again, the spa is the highlight! Go as a couple. Go alone. Do not skip it! My massage was 10/10 and the amenities were outstanding."
