Food was overpriced and not worth the money, I spent 2800 per person for dinner and still got very bad food. Disappointed w.r.t. food and its pricing.

It's beautiful from outside but horrible inside Staff is useless and hopeless Amenities is very old, drain clogged every single day. Hot water is an issue. Tv not working and power cut anytime

One of the best Hotels with Best scenic view. Lots of Indoor games along with Adventure sports within Hotel Campus. Manojit was very helpful and very humble. Our food request was well taken care and overall experience was excellent.

Average stay experience

The choice of room provided to us was very average for the pricing. After spending 10k for a night we expect a balcony at the least. The room was big though. The view from the room was not that great. The kitchen closes at 3 pm with limited food options, taste wasn't great either.

The services was pathetic. Most of the area was booked for private parties so we couldn't go anywhere. It was like staying in a hotel and not resort. Also, during checkout they took more amount from us. When I checked it, and asked for a refund, they said they have initiated the refund. But I never got it back. They are just thiefs who show you the correct bill. But in final bill which they don't show you they add many bills twice.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY - NOT EVEN MATCH 2 star STANDARD. Recently stayed here with family for 2 days. To start with no staff to help in checkin process or luggage, have to ask multiple times. Then, room allocated was a pathetic dirty room with no view -- unless they consider teenshade as a view. Nothing, happened even after complaint, just the false promise to get the room changed next day (I already arrived in evening, then to pack luggage next morning doesnt make sense at all). Cherry on the cake was -- TV not working, kettle not working, for room service u have to wait for hours for just getting water refill. Bathroom drains were blocked. And, best part they serve in room food in disposable like pizza delivery which though was just coming from one floor below but was served cold with very high price. I have stayed in other Sterling properties during same trip as well in past, they are good but this property definetly has some issue so pls refrain from booking this unless u want to spoil ur holiday.

Location is good. Relationship manger started with his sales pitch even before I had checked in. Despite requesting to take this up later as I was tired, he continued to keep pitching. Cleanliness wasn't great and despite having a Premium suite the room had no view. Overall no value for money

Access road is really bad, Hot water is not available for the second person, need to wait 25 minutes to get enough hot water for the next person. All glasses for drinking water had a faint smell of kerosene. Great location, superb views, excellent breakfast and dinner buffet.

A mixed bag of good, bad and ugly

The stay was a mixed bag really. While the location of the resort is excellent, the roads leading up to the resort are terrible. The same goes for the staff, a mixed bag. Some staff members were very kind and courteous while others were not. There were 3 of us staying in your privilege suite and I called in to request an additional duvet 3 times. The duvet was not provided and the Housekeeping, as well as the front desk, stopped answering calls from my room. Now, this behaviour will ensure that I do not ever come back despite a few good people working in your resort who were very kind and helpful throughout our stay.

Access road to the property was horrible and similar was the parking situation. It took more than 45 minutes to get my car out. Room charges were exorbitant. The mattress was 'spring type' and hurt the back. Floor boards were squeaky. Staff was very helpful, especially the duty manager Mr. Arun. Food quality was great with a lot of variety.

The stay was not comfortable at all. 1. The rooms given to us didn't had a tea kettle and the room service didn't delivery tea as they were short of staff. 2. Got the TV working after multiple complaints. 3. Request for room heater was fulfilled after full 24 hrs of request 4. And to make the things ever more terrible, the security guard opened the side door of the room and came into our room at 11pm without even knocking or informing us. Ridiculous.. and to top it all answer given was that they were just checking the door lock

Crowded Ooty

Ooty town and the surrounding slopes (other than tea gardens) are littered with plastic and garbage. Nightmare traffic, poor road maintenance, and surging crowds - not what you expect at a getaway hill destination. Fern Hill resort was mixed - crowded, little noisy. The facility is clean, but needs better maintenance. The plumbing needs an upgrade, the TV didn't work, the window stays were broken. The espresso machine was not working for many days.

Average Hotel Experience

A very average stay to sum it up. Property - A very nice property far removed from the bustle of the city. Just about the only plus I must say. Rooms - Rooms are of decent size with good views. But upon checking-in I was told that the Hotel does not provide any toiletries. When I requested for Soaps, Shampoos etc., I was told to use the Shower gel instead. They finally provided me with the items after a lot of haggling. Also, special mention is to be made regarding the soiled and dirty linen/towels that they provided even after repeated complaints. Dining & Restaurant - The quality of food is below par. The breakfast buffet is barely passable and there aren't a lot of options to go A la carte even at dinner time. The dishes are inconsistent. Stayed there for a week and I ordered mutton dishes(Indian) on most of the days and at times I was served a different dish on different days even though I ordered the exact same Mutton Masala. It was also amusing to be told by different waiters that mutton was unavailable on some occasions. They would somehow oblige to check with the chef after I inform them that I did have mutton the previous day. Then there are the live counters that have people apologizing that they would try to make a dosa when you ask for one. Wonder why inexperienced chefs are preparing food that they aren't comfortable with. Service was commendable though and a few of the waiters like Radhakrishnan, Ramesh provided excellent service.

I would have been happy to give a 5 star!

An excellent property and I think it is one of the best locations in Ooty. Hotel staff are courteous. I would have been very happy to give a 5 start to this hotel. But, they need to improve in their house keeping and check the room appliances throughly before allotting it to the guest. The toilet flush went bad twice, the room heater stopped working on the first day. Yes, the staff attended to those complaints. But, on holiday, who would like to register complaints early in the morning that the flush stopped working, that too twice within a period of 4 days!? In spite of this, I liked the place very much, its location, serene beauty of wide valley that one can enjoy from the window also.
