"Don't let the (obviously old) pictures fool you, this property was quite dated. First the good point .... if you're looking for a hotel within a stones throw of the Ark Encounter, then you can't get much closer than this one. The parking spots were wide, which was a plus when driving a pickup truck. And that's where the good ends. The staff was anything but helpful (more about that in a minute) and the breakfast was non-existent. Seriously, there was hardly anything for breakfast. It was standard hotel breakfast fare, except that there never seemed to be anything.
My father had a stomach virus one night and was sick two times. The next morning, I immediately let one of the young men, who was cleaning a nearby room, know about the mess. He was the ONLY one of the staff who was understanding. Later that day, he informed me that the lady in charge said we'd be charged $250 for new sheets if my dad was sick again. Come on people ...... we don't drink or party! My dad was simply sick Anyway.........
Our room was mainly clean. When you took a shower, the pressure was low and vacillated between hot and cold, all without having touched the controls. Speaking of the shower controls ...... in order to turn on the water in the tub, you had to pull towards you. And when you did, the entire apparatus pulled out of the wall an inch. The whole thing was wonky!
So a plus for location, but a big fat negatory for everything else. Pay the extra $20 a night and stay in town."
