Hard to sleep!
The bunk beds made of steel were very wobbly. So when the person in the upper bed turned the whole bed was shaking and it woke the person in the lower bed.
The staff liked to socialize with different people and not do their job.
Hotel is opzicht wel schoon en ligt midden in het centrum. Personeel is niet zo vriendelijk en in de bar/restaurant lag oud eten voor het verkoop.
Alleen om te slapen is het prima!
A very rude man at the reception.
Booking not respected. A 20-bed mixed room instead of a 6-bed female only. Not enough keys for everyone, therefore, room door open permanently.
Only one shower for the whole floor, about 50 guests. Two WC, but one is impossible to use as the cover wouldn't stay up, but would fall down unless kept up by hand.
The staff OK, except for the man at the reception.
The worst hostel ever. I've already been in hostels in serveral countries, different prices and quality, but this one oh god, terrible! Don't stay here, it's better sleeping on a camping, believe in me.
We were checkin in, when the woman adverted us that there were no free beds in the 4 beds dorm even that we've reserved more than a month before.
The price was the same even I complaining, the receptionist told us: "guys, you're really lucky, people sleep in the sofa due lots overbookings here".
We gone to the bedroom. There are some wardrobes not enough each for 4. It was between 35º to 40º degrees. I couldn't find A/C control. I asked for the remote control, and almost neither looking to me: "the staff turn on the A/C at 8PM, and after some hours, we turn it off, that is the rule". I told him: "caballero, it's too hot, impossible to stay with no A/C". He: "yes boy, it's summer time, so I cannot do nothing". Being too tired to move out, and it was known that the city was full of tourists, I tried to deal with these problems.
Being impossible to stay there, two guys manually turned on the A/C. So we survived.
They don't clean the dorms any day. After some days having teenagers screaming, talking loud, drinking and eating as the first time of them out of their mom's warm home, the dorm had rubbish everywhere. The bathrooms you guess how were them.
If you have not read this before your staying, I just have to say, good luck!
Story: Checked in late at night, the place was packed with ~20 older men drinking in the bar (surprising for a "youth" hostel, rather uncomfortable). I had a bunk in a room of 4. The room was HOT when I entered because there was only one rickety fan trying to heat this sauna. I asked the keys to my locker, but they said they didn't have any because the last guest lost them, so I would have to ask the boss in the morning. The next morning, I asked the boss and he said I had to bring my bags downstairs if I wanted to store them overnight... I obliged, but was asked for a 10 euro deposit... I obliged, but the locker could fit a small duffel bag at best... Such a strange experience. I could not wait to get out of there.
Rooms: HOT with no ventilation. No ladders for bunks so I basically climbed into bed, which is not great considering its shoddy structure. Mattress was thin af. My locker did not work.
Bathrooms: One shower for 12 people, totally unacceptable. Separate facilities with just toilets onsite.
Location: "Central," but that's not necessarily a good thing. It's pretty far from beaches and sites, considering how small Palma is.
Bar: Filled with old men. No "youth" or "backpacker" aspect to it.
Staff: Nice, but barely any English. That was ok for my group, but might not be if you're ESL or don't speed Spanish.
Wifi: Did not work in the rooms at all.
Condition: The hostel is old... very old. Doors could be pushed open, but thankfully the bedroom doors were secure.

Reservation mix-up
When I arrived they had no record of my reservation. Luckily they had availability as I arrived very late so would have been a big problem if not. Shared dormatory, very basic but clean. Showers were clean and adequate.

Look elsewhere
I can agree with a lot of the criticism from other reviewers. The staffer at reception was rude and unfriendly. He was also very slow to check me in, despite being the only person at reception.
The room is barebones- bunks and a small cabinet that isn't even lockable. Two toilets and six showers for the entire floor (11 rooms).
Being earplugs if you intend on sleeping because the noise from outside goes until late, and noise isolation is poor, even within the building itself.
Even then you might not get sleep, as the beds get super hot as the mattress and pillow are made of some sort of rubber. Doesn't let air through and your sweat will end up drenching the bedding.
Only positives are the location- within walking distance of all the main sights in central Palma. And though the building is a bit run down, it was clean and at least some effort to spruce things up with the artwork.
I've been to many hostels in my time though and I can easily say this is the worst I've been to. Glad I was only here for one night.
