"I'm used to 3 star hotels. This hotel is truly 4 star. The cleanliness, the staff and our very affordable ocean view suite with spectacular views of Mt. Etna, the Straits of Messina, and sunsets was wonderful. The robes and slippers is a nice perk. The hotel location is a few minutes walk to the high speed ferry to Messina, Sicily and a few minutes walk to the Lido train station. The hotel is convenient to the Lungomare waterfront and the famous Archeological Museum as well as several art galleries and shopping. All less than 10 minutes away by walking. Bocconissimo, the fabulous hotel restaurant, is open for a full buffet breakfast 7-10 am and dinner from 7:30-10 pm with a spectacular menu from delicious pizza to scrumptious pasta dishes, all with no salt and pepper needed, like some restaurants in Italy I've experienced. The downside to this hotel is the surroundings which were devastated by storm Harry in January. The city is working hard to restore the waterfront. However,don't miss this one!!!"

"I had stayed here before on a number of occasions but if this has been my first experience I would not have returned. Very small, bare single room. The bed was the hardest I have ever experienced and the shower cubicle the smallest imaginable. There was black mould in the shower and the curtain so short that the bathroom floor got soaked. However, breakfast was good, the staff friendly and it is very convenient for the railway station - fine for a one night stay."
