The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was tok much trouble. You could relax at the hotel, the honesty bar was great and the pool area was a nice place to chill out. Its also only a short walk into the city, alternatively there are buses running every 15 minutes. An added bonus is that the hotel is right by a hospital, so even the most accident prone people are catered for.

We found the hotel to be very well run with friendly and caring staff. Our room was large and well appointed. The breakfast buffet and other meals were excellent. The hotel is in a beautiful, tranquil rural setting but in easy reach of Figueres, Girona and the coast.

Amazing stay!

El Porxo is a beautiful home/bed and breakfast in a quiet neighbourhood about 20 mins walk (5 mins bus or drive) outside the city centre. The neighbourhood has good restaurants and shops. Hosts are wonderfully welcoming and the breakfast is incredible.

We visited for a triathlon so the area was very busy. There is a free car park available which was full at times. It was also exceptionally hot. The air conditioning was very effective. The rooms were clean and reasonably well equipped. There was very little storage. The bed was comfortable. It was a 15 minute walk to the supermarket and the old town. Staff were great, breakfast was awesome, location was perfect, our sleep was quiet, beds comfy, and shower a lovely experience. Only thing is the parking garage has a very tight turn and scratches on your vehicle are highly likely if you're not EXTREMELY careful.

Aircon was welcome Pool was beautiful Food was traditional and homely

Really clean. Bus stop 5 minutes walk that gets you into Girona (takes about 20 mins).

Excellent hotel, efficient staff were always available, room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Only drawback is that it's quite a trek into the City centre and rail/bus station

Beautiful location and very helpful staff.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Loved our stay in Besalu. We’ll be back!

Great location clean great staff

Beautiful spacious modern rooms. Dove toiletries. Comfortable bed and nice bedding. Shower over bath. Good aircon. Right beside shopping centre with numerous places to eat and great selection of shops. Easy free parking. Great value.

we were able to check in at midday upon arrival from the airport, very efficient check in & a nice welcome. Our room was clean & cool, nicely appointed, enough space to move around in, huge bathroom with large walk in shower. A kettle in the room was very much appreciated, minibar was well stocked. Our room was 3rd floor, at rear, full length windows opened to a railing, overlooking the pool area. Seemed well sound-proofed room; heard little noise (none of the recently mentioned construction...

Just a few minutes walk from the center of town/ nice small pool and great views all day and night

Stunning location, jaw dropping views, a wonderful place to stay

Very helpful staff, luggage stored pre-check in helped, and after check-out, allowing more time to explore. Well situated for visiting the town. Hope to return.
