"What a fabulous find this was. Just a few mins out of town. There was building work going on but wasn’t disturbed by it as out all day.
Lodge was fab, so clean, everything you need and the beds were so comfy.
If I’m that way again I’ll definitely be booking Great communication all through.
Thank you
Karen. "

"We all had a great stay at Thistle Lodge. Very clean and well presented. The open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area was great for our family trip of 4 adults. A bonus was the outdoor gated patio, felt like a sense of security for our Labrador. Great base for exploring Perthshire. Will definitely return in the near future. "

"Lovely views. Food gorgeous . Spa area disappointing. Pool area small and dull, not great lighting . The steam room was totally dark, no lights working! Area where steam room and sauna was was freezing. Odd area with two couches in a very large room. This would be lovely with lots of comfy seating, cushions, nice lighting so it could be used to relax in, read in, etc. Such a waste of space. However, I had the best massage that I’ve ever had…and I’ve had a lot!…from Megan. On our second day , we went for a walk into Pitlochry after breakfast then I wanted to sit in the lounge area of the hotel and read my book for the rest of the morning, early afternoon. The lounge are was closed until 2.30pm! How weird. The only place to sit was in the restaurant. Not at all what I would expect from a 5 star hotel to not have a comfy seating area open at all times. Another thing I have definitely never had to do in a 5 star hotel is pay for a latte our cappuccino at breakfast. Even at 4 star or a recent B and B we stayed at, this was included in the hot drink choice at breakfast. All in all we enjoyed our trip but won’t be back as have stayed in other spa hotels that have a much better spa…Stobo and Roxburghe Schloss to name two. "
"We had a junior suite overlooking the river which was nice enough, we thought the bathroom required an update. No towel heating rail, no underfloor heating so it was cold. Perhaps we were spoiled the year before as we stayed in The Hermitage suite which was superb, far preferred it however I expect more expensive.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the swimming pool.
The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was good, however I think there could have been more choices in the main meals menu."
"Couple issues with spa amd no treatments available food not so good either and cocktail shocking smallest glass not nice for price room basic really small shower/ bath not good water would not give me happy medium either roasting or freezing unfortunately I will not return "
"Staff was great.. hotel was peaceful.. grounds were stunning.. only one issue was with our door in room 6 reported that hinge was broken and door wouldn't close without lifting it. reported Sunday left Tuesday...We were in room and realised that door wouldn't close on self closure.
Must say wouldn't stop me returning to this hotel, would recommend "
