"We stayed a week at a Helgafell suite in the beginning of November. The suite was in two floors with a sundeck on roof. Modern interior, 2 BR, 2 bath and one toilet. The house in located in the Allegra gated community, pools in the area (not heated). Everything worked well, friendly and helpful host. Parking in the community area and street parking available. Good internet. Grocery stores within walking distance, restaurants, pubs and other stores in the town."

"This place was fantastic. It’s right on the beach and the staff are super friendly. La Mata is a great mellow town to make your home base with great restaurants and a couple markets right down the boardwalk. It’s not super fancy, so don’t expect the four seasons, but it’s a great place to stay, highly recommend. "

"No wifi in rooms and only in reception.. bar and restaurant closed most evenings .. pool closed .. Access to wifi was a real problem for me and needing to sit in reception to do my work was very inconvenient. Furniture in rooms very uncomfortable.. Located in a good area but this time of the year most places are closed "

Rooms were nice and fresh but missing a lot of basics for a self catering room with cooking facilities. Beds were like wooden boards and had no comfort whatsoever. "It was a basic studio and was clean. Air con was good. Pool closes for 3 hours 2-5pm. Food in restaurant is very good and reasonable priced but for all the staff they have (5) service is terrible. I had to go bar and order in end as got sick of waiting even though it wasn’t busy. When we received meal i had to get up and ask for cutlery. No entertainment on night we stayed"

"Only stayed for one night but would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Right on the seafront and walkable to all amenities of the resort and town. Parking can be somewhat difficult during busy periods, first time we parked we were on the next street, the second time we parked was a 4 minute walk away so not far. The lady on reception was super friendly and accommodating and made lots of recommendations for exploration of the area. Overall a lovely stay at Hotel Alaska!"

"Located directly on the water with family-friendly beaches on either side. Our room was spacious, the air- conditioning was excellent and the private balcony afforded a stunning view. Buffet meals offered a wide array of food choices. One annoyance was the extra charge for water. It was not included in the buffet price and we thought it should have been"
