"Our stay was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. I will note that the pictures depict a lavish boutique resort, however, it was more run down and could use some updating. The grounds were beautiful but the pool was often dirty and needs to be repaired. The food was excellent but very expensive. We stayed in a bungalow that was very small but comfortable for 2 adults and one child. Overall it was a nice stay. "

"Could not have stayed at a better place in Tamarindo. Comfortable room overlooking the pool. Complementary breakfast was cooked to order. Staff is friendly and helpful. Access to the beach club across the street which had everything you would need for an enjoyable day in the sun. Will definitely be back!!"

"We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect. "

As a young couple traveling to Costa Rica from the US who wanted access to the beach and night life, this was the perfect spot for us. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the poolside day bed space under the Bungalows was one of our favorites! "Most comfortables hotel bed I ever slept in. A couch would have been nice and our room was up a large set of stairs and had no personal out door space and the patio doors don’t open so it felt very restricted. The pool was great but there was not enough shade. The road the hotel is on is so rough to walk into town on that made it challenging at times. Location was good though and close the markets. 10 min walk to the beach. Sadly they do not provide beach towels. All in all we enjoyed our stay...
